  Eleventh release of A&S ProMode (2011-03-23) Mission release    

Kju has informed us about Eleventh release of A&S ProMode (2011-03-23).

This smaller update makes AI again more player like along with some fixes for recent additions.

From now on you will find a second pack in the file base called AnS_ProMode_OA_AI_DATE.7z.
This one has the AI mode active by default.

You can see the planned additions for the next release in the roadmap.

I am looking for people interested to submit new modsets for community mods,
like ACE2, FDF and others. It is an easy job - you only need to define the unit
class and its equipment: west side or east side.

2011-03-23 changelog

* Added: Make AI medic type units heal players nearby.
* Added: Make AI to respawn at a closer zone when too far away.

* Changed: Give the east AT Specialist the MetisLauncher instead of the M47Launcher.
* Changed: Make AI vehicles have no commander to have the gunner act quicker.
* Changed: Make AI only use AA/AT classes when there are air / landvehicles as a threat.
* Changed: Make AI units flank not too far if already close to the target.
* Changed: Make the AI position counter reset also on AI weapon use.
* Changed: Make AI in motorbikes/jeeps eject and move on as infantry when entering a zone.

* Fixed: Revive is buggy when being in the observer mode.
* Fixed: After a while AI vehicles fall from the sky in X Ray.
* Fixed: After a while AI no longer uses limited classes.
* Fixed: Equipment pics not visible after respawn.
* Fixed: Unarmed vehicle handling is broken after a minute.
* Fixed: AI zone protection is off in match mode.

The optional AI mode can be used for enjoyment while waiting for the server
to fill or as training. See the details in the features section of the wiki.

  [ADO] Vostok and [ADO] Vostok Winter released Addon release    

[ADO] Old Bear has released his [ADO] Vostok and [ADO] Vostok Winter islands on our Forums.

[ADO] Vostok : the Vostok project is based upon publicly released or unreleased small projects gathered in an archipelago, main items are Pomegratskaya -Winter version released for ArmA2- and Surfong-Ri publicly unreleased and some other items gathered on a 20 km x 20 km map with a lot of water on it.
Unprobable location : North-East of Armaversum, Est of Kolguiev

- Surfon Ostrov in the North-West is hosting the Zvezda soviet secret rocket/missile project, a large air base, an harbour, a small town and some military and scientific facilities.

- Nikto Ostrov is a large forested island mainly used as prison and hosting many camps from the Gulag network, a sawmill and a well known mine ...

- Pomegratskaya in the South East has been for a long era an harbour for the Czar fleet and was heavily fortified as it was on a very disputed border. So the island is still covered with remains of fortifications and military facilities from different eras.

The map is coming in 2 versions : Vostok and Vostok Winter.
Beton's addon are needed on both versions.

  19 Backpack Variants by Lennard Addon release    
Lennard has released a Backpack Variants v1.0 addon featuring 19 backpacks on the BI Forums .

When creating some backpacks for the units I'm making, I thought some simple backpack addon would be a nice addition to the game.
Using a backpack in CZ camo when playing as US army looks quite odd, so came up with this small addon that adds loads of variants to choose from.
They should also go great with Schnapdrosel's Mercenary addon.

  Isla Del Fuego by Oktyabr Screenshots    

Oktyabr has released an Isla Del Fuego v0.2 beta island on the BI Forums. Working installation of ArmA II/Operation Arrowhead :Combined Operations needed.

Isla Del Fuego Features
- A 10km.sq. map with approx. 4km.sq. of dry land in the middle of it.
- New terrain to ArmA II including the first extinct volcano caldera (AFAIK).

  African foliage for ArmA II v1.23 released Addon release    
BergHoff has released an updated African foliage for ArmA II v1.23 on the BI Forums.

This addon contains 34 usable models that can be used too create a vast desert, savanna or jungle.

The addon was previously released for ArmA in a un-finished state but now I have ported it over to ArmA II and completed all models that were in prior releases.

I want to thank Icebreakr for testing the foliage on his nice Isla Duala.

schnapsdrossel has released a SpecOps, Mercs, BlackOps, OpFor addon on the BI Forums.

This addon will add several Special Forces (Multicam, DCU, Blackops, Seals, KSK), Mercenaries + BlackOps and Desert OpFor.
