Prova is working on bringing the some custom unit equipment (AIM Units) to ArmA and posted 3 WIP shots in the BIS Forums.
We are currently making some custom unit equipment for Armed Assault for intended use for our clan. We will probably be releasing a public addon of it as well. Its not based on anything as we just wanted to make some beefy looking system like you would see on action dolls or in movies.

On the "old" BI Forums Placebo announced that Forums will be set to read-only from the 23th until the 29th of March in order to allow a smooth transition towards the new vBulletin forum software.
Howdy folks, Following on from the recent beta testing of the new forums a few weeks ago, we're now making preparations for the final migration and move to the shiny new vBulletin forum software. As such these forums will be turned to "read only" status for the period of Monday 23rd March - Sunday 29th March, this will allow us to move everything across to vBulletin without losing any posts, post counts, user accounts (hopefully! ).
Visually the new forums will look a little bit different from what you're used to as the software we use now is much older and of course different from the new software, we will however try to ensure that visually they're crisp use space as well as possible, the key improvements will be in terms of functionality, both for you as the end user and us as Admins/Moderators, the old forums really were like running Flashpoint1 in an ArmA2 world ;)
Furthermore Placebo has revived the Community Awards, which he had to delay because of a number of factors. You can now cast your vote about your favorite addon/mission/fansite/member for the upcoming 14 days. Apologies for the really unfortunate delays which meant that the 2008 Community Awards ran on and on with no apparent conclusion, this was due to a number of factors but to skip to the chase, please check out the Community Blog Post which explains what we're doing now (ie 14 more days of nominating then 14 days of final voting).

PhillipRauch posted an impressive video (uploaded to YouTube by mr.g-c) showing the realistic Javelin AT system he is working on in the BI Forums
Hello, a new video showing my Javelin System. This time you can see three shots, the first on a stationary Tank, the second on a stationary Building (duh! ) and the last isnt really a shot but shows the BCU expending and finally the seeker shutting down due to overheating. And there a lots of debug msg and other stuff, dont mind them. the missile has a huge firetrail so you can see the missile better and it leaves a red trail to show the flightpath somehow...
I also use ArmA timelapse with the last shot, so you dont need to watch like 4min of gates blinking... in case you wonder... You can switch the powerswitch from off-day-night-test now, with day you only get daysight and the possibility to activate the BCU. In night you get the full CLU capabilities (no cooldowntime or NVS in this video yet). The test mode will be just some eyecandy, like icons flashing and such...
