  ArmA Electrical Grids (AEG) v1.01 by Loyalguard Addon release    

Loyalguard has released an updated ArmA Electrical Grids (AEG) v1.01 on the BI Forums.

The ArmA Electrical Grids (AEG) project simulates electrical power grids throughout various islands in the ArmAverse. The simulation features power plants with smokestacks that emit smoke when generating electricity. Substations or poles with transformer that emit a humming noise when energized. Street lights are turned off when power is cutoff.

  Whisky on the rocks Addon release    
Under the Whisky on the rocks codename, granQ has released a huge Swedish Forces Pack special version on the BI Forums.

In the morning of 28th October, 1981, the Swedish navy was went to investigate some noises fishermen had reported. Just a little bit outside one of the mayor naval bases they found a Soviet submarine of whisky class. The S-363, more known as U-137, had went aground! The incident became known as the whisky on the rocks.

To mark the day we decided to release a special version of the Swedish Forces Pack.

Disclamier:
There are many bugs, it isn't near as good quality as Unsung, Invasion 44 or ACE. Don't expect it, and don't be disappointed.

* Custom island (10x10km), based on the real island where the events took place.

  Modern Russian motorized infantry by RedFox Studio Addon release    
EugenyKrag from RedFox Studio has released a Modern Russian motorized infantry v1.0 addon on the BI Forums.

Addon has 2 versions of camouflage:
- Russian digital
- Russian flora

You can find addon:
East\motorized infantry RF\Men
East\motorized infantry RF\Men (Flora camo)

You should have Arma 2 CO 1.59, but maybe it will work with Arma 2 1.10

  Emita City - Arma2CO Island released Addon release    

bracer has released an Emita City - Arma2CO Island version beta 1.0 on the BI Forums.

Emita City is a 5x5km island.
It started out as a project intended as a training ground for MOUT.
But as I learned how to use the mod tools, I wanted to create a full island instead.

It contains a city that is approximatly twice the size of Zargabad.
The city is surrounded by a long coast to the north and flat agricultural areas to the south.
In the middle of the map there is a small civilian airfield.

Since I release this version earlier than planned,
there's still some parts of the map that is no completed.

To do before finished:
-Fix the satellite image and groundtextures.
-Fix clutter growing through asphalt and roads.
-Make the Airfield more functional. Currently slow to drive on the tarmac.
-Add detail to the less detailed areas of the island.

I appreciate all feedback I can get to make Emita as awesome as possible!
There shouldn't be any performance issues, but let me know if there is.

  Operation Frenchpoint return ... announced ! Community    

IkåR from HEXAgon Mod has publish a communiqué on the new Operation Frenchpoint site.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of the Operation Frenchpoint mod.

Hexagon will soon no longer exist, but don't worry, the addons we worked on in recent months will be fully available, as expected.

Operation Frenchpoint was born just last nine years ago , in October 2002, the first public release was in February 2003 for the game "Operation Flashpoint".
It's a return to sources and especially the desire to revive this Mod.

Operation Frenchpoint is already present on "Operation Flashpoint" but also on "ArmA", it will be soon on "Operation Arrowhead" and "Combined Operations".
For those who are nostalgic, you can find older versions of OFrP Mod in the downloads site.

The difficult conversion from "Hexagon Mod" to "OFrP Mod" is already completed, we have lost very little time.
The compatibility will be ensured with missions created for Hexagon, everything should work fine since the old entries are stored in the configuration.
The site is still in the colors of Hexagon, a new graphic theme is under construction.

Murcielago has submitted his Arma 2 DeathMatch System to Armed Assault.info

Max. Player: 18
AddOns: N/A
Required: Arma 2 + Operation ArrowHead
Missions features:
1) Players will respawn in safe locations away from action and enemies.
2) Players have respawn protection.
3) Complex scenarios that look real.
4) Weapons can be restricted to a specific group of guns or a particular weapon.
5) Smart code that will allow to customize the match conditions.
6) It runs with high FPS on dedicated and non-dedicated servers thanks to an small and smart solid code.
7) Anti-Camper feature can be enabled or disabled.
8) At the end of the match best player character will be shown.
9) MIX version has 18 different characters this makes the mission more interesting as you can link a player with his avatar.

  Folk Mission Pack #07 released Mission release    

Fer has informed us about Folk Mission Pack #07 release.

To celebrate over a year of the Folk sessions, we're releasing more packs containing missions developed specially for Folk (64+ in the first year). If you and your community enjoy coop and adversarial missions crafted with care using the F2 mission development framework, and that require only vanilla Armed Assault: Combined Operations, these might be for you.

In this mission pack:

IVORY HUNT
A team of insurgents attack a small motorised patrol in order to lure an M1A2 Tusk out of its base. The insurgents must then destroy the tank. You have a deployable AT-13 and DShK MG to help you!

RESCUE
The Black Turbans have captured a western press team. Their objective is to escort the captives to the army HQ for processing. A KSK team has been assigned to rescue them. The press team can try to escape on their own should they wish. Players take the roles of KSK, Black Turbans and the press team.

UNDERCOVER
The militia have the bombs, but can't pass un-noticed amongst the locals. The undercover operatives blend in, but have no bombs. These two groups must co-operate to bomb the city's main mosque. BLUFOR has to find and stop them (without killing too many innocent civilians).

BOMBS AWAY
A US infantry squad must locate a crashed helicopter in Zargabad. The city is held by unfriendly rebels, so the TK government is going to bomb it shortly - time is of the essence for the US forces.

AIRFIX
A Russian infantry squad is inserted via helicopter near the airport in southern Takistan. They must destroy the TK military planes that are parked there.

VILLAGE CLEARANCE
A very simple mission where a CZ infantry squad must clear a village of insurgents.

  DevCon - the developer console Editing    
kju has informed us about DevCon - the developer console release on the BI Forums.

This is more like a first preview release of the DevCon.
Still it is already very powerful and most developers should find it very useful.

  AI Forward Observer by Blakeace Addon release    
Blakeace has released a Blake's AI Forward Observer Module v 0.1a on the BI Forums.

The module is based on my AI artillery framework scripts. I have tweaked and changed a couple of things, but mainly it is fundamently the same. The reason for producing a module was to create a very simple way for mission designers to add opposition artillery. Like the framework it uses real mortar pieces firing rounds at targets that the FO's genuinely know about. Using the BIS artillery module functionality hidden within. Leaving the user with a nice graphical way of creating opposition artillery.

  Carrier Ops by blakeace updated Addon release    
blakeace has release updated Blake's Carrier Ops v0.1.1 alpha module and Blakes Carrier Ops EE v0.2 alpha addon on the BI forums.

Adds the ability to manouver aircraft around, to facilitate the ability to utilise the likes of the LHD more fully.

Any aircraft can be moved, even if inoperable, as long as it isn't destroyed. This allows the clearance of damaged aircraft from vital areas.
It also enables the ability to backup aircraft that are parked on a ramp etc.

As a side benefit it also allows the emulation of ground manouving of helicopters. Yes those with skids will also do this (though would look funny). Also allowing for more realistic ground operations if required.
Some helicopters behave better than others. One way of improving movement on some is to engage auto hover while taxiing forward, disengaging when turning is required. No it is not designed to be a proper simulation of ground movement for any aircraft, rather it is a simplified method of allowing more precise ground handling.

  L119A1 Pack - Version 1.0 by Lennard [CO] Addon release    
Lennard has released his Lennard's L119A1 Pack v 1.0 addon on the BI Forums.

"The Diemaco(Colt Canada) C8 SFW, designated L119A1 within the UK military, offers several improvements over the M4 it is based on.
The main improvements include a hammer forged heavy mid-length (16.1 inches) barrel and beefed up front sight post to mount the HK AG-C grenade launcher.
It fires the 5.56x45mm round and uses standard NATO 30-round magazines."

This addon will add 14 different variants of the L119A1 to your game in 3 different camo's, that makes a total of 42 variants.
The weapons can be found in the ammo box in the editor or added by hand with "This addweapon .. ". The ammo box is located under EMPTY > AMMO > UK Diemaco Box.

It's fully OA compatible, with it's thermal textures and flash lights and IR lasers.
Therefor the original Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead are both required to play.
The reason they are both required is to support BIS.

  Blakeace Mirrors updated Addon release    
blakeace has informed us about updated Blake's Mirrors module release on the BI Forums.

A module that allows drivers of cars and trucks to use mirrors giving a more realistic experience in those roles, rather than having to rely on the outer body experience to view behind when reversing :P
Note it hasn't had any real dedicated server testing, only on my test dedicated server. Hence the alpha release for public testing. Feedback welcomed especially results on dedicated servers. Hopefully A3 will make this redundant.

The placement is determined by a generic formula applied to the bounding box of the vehicles. As such one size doesn't always fit. See below to override the default placement if required.

¤¤Trauma¤¤ has informed us about udpated M113/M163 Mod addon release on our Forums.
This mod requires Combined Operations (ArmA2 + OA) to work properly.

Description:
This pack is an update of my old and very buggy M113_BIS mod. if you have this files deletes them
this pack include M113A3,M113 Ambulance,M163 Vulcain and M163 Machbet in desert and wood camo.
They can be found under BLUFOR->US/USMC->Armored and BLUFOR->US/USMC->Support for M113 ambulance.
The USMC version defaults to the woods camo, while the US version defaults to desert camo.
