McNools has released an updated [OA]Tier One Operators V3.1 addon on the BI Forums.
These units are meant to be elite forces often working behind enemy lines, blending in with the people and culture of takistan, they are avaible in both combat outfits with some local clothing and state-of-the-art military equipment, aswell as undercover-versions with civilian clothing and more basic and local weaponry.
I left them generic on purpose so that they can represent any number of elite operators, from Delta Force to maybe even the CIA.
I don't think I'll implement anything new into this now, once I start modding I can't really stop (hardly even for sleeping), so I need to calm down a bit now. I'll try to fix bugs/problems though, but I probably won't implement anything new, atleast nothing big.
Installation instructions etc. are in the readme.
NEW IN 3.1: - Added ACU Heavy Operators
- Added new headgear: some of the heavy operators now have MICH2001-helmets with plenty of additions on them.
Minor things: - All operators can now hide bodies - Demolition expert can now disable mines
Warmod started out as an idea when i began browsing Armaholic download section to change a few aspects of my game, to fix various gameplay aspects i simply was getting tired of. Along the route i came apon mods i had never seen before even though I had played Arma since it came out, it was like a new world of opportunity opened up to totally customize the game to how i wanted to play.
I created this mod to make the game more stable, more solid more in the player's control, as I felt the game had to much gun movement, to much recoil, unrealistic ballistics, to much dispersion of the shots, crappy FX, sound and AI. Everytime i was playing, the gun was moving, it took me half a clip to kill a guy, and the rounds i shots weren't landing where I had my ironsights or scope. Ai were retarded, the enemy could see you through bushes, I was like WTF is this crap, i cant see through the bushes and they can!? The sound was drab, and i searched through many sound mods to find the one that sounded most realistic to me. (sound of course is a personal preference) The mod was mainly designed for myself and a for the guys i play with in my WW2 Realism unit, we play WW2 based game as well as modern warfare. I spent pretty much all of the last weeks of september and all of October, and most of Novemeber 2009 researching, downloading, and testing, testing, testing, testing, yes alot of testing! I found a good combination of mods that really made a serious difference in the game. Most of the mod is a compilation of many addons & mods, that play apon each others features.
The difference between a page that has a list of mods and addons that you can compile together or add to your game which ever one you want, is that i did that already, i basically did all the work for you, i did the research, the downloading, the testing, the troubleshooting in terms of compatability ect, but my mod isn't units, or vehicles, its effects, fixes and gameplay, and well a good portion of AI fix/change which Arma definately needed!

This is very long mission. There is two random objectives created on mission start, these must be completed and 1400 enemy KIA's achieved to complete this mission. There is friendly AI forces and helicopters on the scenario so you are not alone and you must watch your fire to avoid friendly casualties.

JdB from the [Invasion 1944] mod sent us the following preview of one of the missions that will be in the port of their D-Day project.
The second preview of one of our multiplayer missions that will be featured in the D-Day project port. This time, the mission is "I44_TVT_Verloren_1_32".
"Verloren" is a 1-32 player Team vs Team mission created by Pac (mission-design and scripting) and SFG (music).
Your objective:
November 1944, A small German squad has broken through enemy lines and destroyed a vital factory, American patrols and checkpoints have been setup around their last know position. German players must escape to nearby exfiltration points manned by friendly units by any means necessary. American players can either secure the checkpoints which act as shared respawn areas, join the search in the surrounding area supported by AI hunter teams, or try and setup an ambush at one or more of the exfiltration points.
sbsmac has informed us about the release of Squint - the sqf editor and error-checker on the BI Forums.
Hi guys, I have another tool to announce and one that I hope will make a huge difference to the world of arma scripting! Please feel free to edit the following as you think appropriate. I'll be happy to supply more details if you have questions.
Squint is an editor and static-analyser (error-checker) for ArmA2 and Operation ArrowHead script files. Amongst its features:
* It can work with .sqf, .sqm, .cpp and .ext files * It can perform syntax colouring of your scripts as you work * It can analyse your scripts for errors and warn you of them as you work * It can suggest fixes for common mistakes * It can work on files inside pbo'd missions or addons * It can 'expand' included files and macros to help debug preprocessor-related problems
I don't know if you can embed iframes in news articles, but if you can, there are a couple of cool google-presentations I've put together to help explain the product...
The main page for squint is on my homepage: https://sites.google.com/site/macsarmatools/squint and as usual there is a BIS forum dedicated to it: ... Squint is still in development so I'd love to hear from people who have ideas about how it could be made even better.
An Arma 2: BAF Launch Trailer Released has been released on the official ArmA2 site.
Next in the line-up of military simulators, this huge add-on for the recently released Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead deploys on August 26th and delivers a new campaign, numerous single missions and a brand new faction, expanding upon the already epic collection offered up by Arma 2's MilSim sandbox.
Players take on the role of British paratroopers and engage the enemy on an asymmetric battlefield. Less than two months after Operation Arrowhead successfully routed the Takistani military regime, NATO coalition forces face a large-scale outbreak of guerilla insurgency. A mechanized force of British troops is about to deploy and embark upon a large-scale counter-insurgency campaign, which will define the future of the coalition presence in Takistan: Operation "Crimson Lance".
BAF provides an opportunity to explore the beautiful country of Takistan in even more depth, and offers the chance to hop across the border to Karzeghistan in the Shapur e-Dalanper region - a brand new area included as bonus content.
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead is available now! Also Arma 2: Combined Operations; an unique collection of original Arma 2 and massive standalone expansion pack Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead is in stores now.
Arma 2: British Armed Forces will be deployed exclusively for PC on 26th August 2010. It will be available for GBP 7.99/EUR 8.99/USD 9.99.

McNools has released an updated [OA]Tier One Operators V3.0 ((now with heavies!)) addon on the BI Forums.

Nemesi has informed us about the release of the "Scalapatraz" C&H Tactical MP Game Mode by {BDR}*IlSocio* and {BDR}*Inpace* on the BI forums. This game mode is available on Combined Operations (Arma2 + Arrowhead) only.
Scalapatraz is a new tactical team vs team game mode that will really test your skills.
Description
It's based on a Capture & Hold, with one or more sector to conquer and maintain to raise your score. Conquering the sectors is based on parameters. You can choose how many players are needed to conquer the sector, from 1 (easy mode, suited for public servers) to 4 (very hard mode, recommended only for very organized teams and for clanwars). The possibility to choose the number of players needed to conquer a sector is intended to enhance and select the level of teamwork required. At variance with others C&H, this new gamemode is teamwork based.
Most of you will be armed only with the basic equipment and just a few of you will have access to special weapons such as rocket launchers or sniper rifles. You need to coordinate and manage your resources as best if you want to prevail over the opposing faction!
You'll have many vehicles at your base. Just remember that they will not respawn if destroyed. This mode is intended to be realistic, however, you can always rearm and repair your vehicles at your base. Again, the possibility of creating a vehicle (motorbike only) is based on a selectable parameter. Depending on the selected parameter, you will be more and more forced to coordinate with other players.
Capture a sector will not be easy. You'll need to make team play and cover each other, you must stay close to the flags for a long time and you'll often be in open field!
You can play this mode at different times of day, including night. In this case you will be able to use your night equipment that is available when you'll choose your gear.
One last thing to know: there will be no bonuses during the game, not even at the end of the match. You must fight for the sectors from the beginning! There is no time to loose. Remember that coordination and teamwork is all you can count to prevail over the opposing faction.
Lastly, what does Scalapatraz mean? Basically nothing, it is a battle cry with a story behind ..
Each mission has a different numbers of sectors to conquer. In detail : 3 missions with 1 sectors, 1 mission with 2 sectors, 1 mission with 3 sectors, 1 mission with 6 sectors.
Play Scalapatraz on BDR CLAN Server (ip:94.23.8.137:2302) or Lega Italiana Arma Server (ip:87.106.12.135:2340)
