Maddmatt has released an updated 0.6 version of his ArmA Effects addon on the BI Forums. This addon improves ArmA's particle effects, such as explosions and fires.
It contains many new effects, including * New effects for weapons and explosions. * Various weapon firing effects. * More smoke when buildings are destroyed. * New burning and smoke effects. * AT backblast effects. * Aircraft destroyed in the air now leave a flame/smoke trail (doesn't seem to work properly in MP). * Various other tweaks.
Important: Read the readme please or you might not install it properly. You must delete the old version before installing this, it has a different file name and may conflict with the new version if it's not removed
Edit : Due to a bug the rain addon that was included with ArmA Effects 0.6 did not work independantly and would only with if armA Effects was running. This is a fixed version of the rain that runs on it's own. There are no other changes. So you only need this if you want the new rain without ArmA Effects. This goes in an addon folder. Make sure to get rid of the old "MatH_Rain.pbo" in any addon folders.
Our friend and colleague JerryHopper from ArmedAssault.eu has announced us that his great Sahrani Radio project is back online! We support this nice initiative and strongly advise you to listen to it like all real Sahrani-based soldiers do! ;)
The radio is online 7/7 24/24, with music and it will broadcast new interviews, as well as other field-reports in and around armedassault. While we are writing these lines Rhodite is currently playing and talking. Direct link to listen with a AAC+ compatible mediaplayer like Winamp is http://arma.valuenet.nl:8000/listen.pls.
To give the radiostation some variety, we're looking for people from the community who have a good taste for music and humor. Are you that guy with a different taste of music? and are you not afraid to let your voice be heard on the radio or podcasts / interviews? This, in combination with a healthy dose of humor, makes you a perfect candidate for this position. As an Sahrani Radio 'deejay' you spend about 3-6 hours per week on unique audible content within the armedassault community. If you are interested in being part of Sahrani Radio, send an email to hopper.jerry AT gmail.com Ofcourse, if you dont have the time to commit yourself to Sahrani-Radio, but do want to help us out on a irregular basis your welcome too.
Our forum member Tetraplegix has found a new mod named ArmA Chechnya War Mod and created by datakill. There's no need to explain what the mod will be about, but you can find a lot of other screenshots directly on their site here!

Model39 from the Wrzesien 1939 mod team has posted some excellent looking work in progress screenshots on our forums showing the numerous addons the mod is working on.
Works on our mod goes further. Mialczyk joined to the team. One can see his textures on Bf 109 Dora. There are 7TP light tank, wz.34 armoured car, BF 110 C as well as polish infantery. All addons dropped into Arma by Jaksa.
Synide has released two new tools for the ArmA addon editing scene.
The first one named p3dm2lxo can convert a p3dm to Lightwave file format (LWO). The second utility named synMoveUV can merge textures together and shift UV's associated with those textures in the model to the appropriate place. If you don't understand a single word of it, don't worry, addonmakers do !
Since it seems that some people didn't notice it, our Operation Flashpoint 1 website OFP.info can't be reached directly with ofp.info address anymore, since domain name expired (we didn't own it and tried to backorder it) on January, the 1st.
So you can still connect to OFP.info using the ofp.gamepark.cz address and probably update your bookmarks too because we don't really expect to get the domain name redirection back.

Now you can take a look at the full size versions of these masterpieces:

As one jury member put it: "Just an excellent moment captured."

One jury member commented: "Very much captures the idea of 'on the fly' combat photography."
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone that participated. Your entry didn't make it, but as they say: "Better luck next year!". Keep making those shots :)
