  Virtual TrainingSpace 2 released Mission release    

Grimm from French [CTR]Team has released his Virtual TrainingSpace 2 on the BI Forums. VTS2 allows you to create cooperative missions in real time. This pack contains 7 VTS2 maps and 3 tutorials. You just need QG for the last maps (ASmap, Porto, Sahrani United), but you can play VTS2 without QG, with Sahrani, Gardinas, Sakakah, Iran-Irak Border... you just have to download these maps from our addons or island section.

Virtual TrainingSpace 2 allows you to create cooperative missions in real time.
The players choose their side, equipment, the location of the objective, and so on.
Everything is customizable. It's composed of 2 modules that can work together or independantly : pre-mission and complete real time module.

  Bush Wars Mod - PUMA AS330L screenshots Screenshots    
Bush Wars Conflict Mod staff have also been working on other stuff along with the Angola island posted below, eg. PUMA AS330L, which ObmaR posted some information about on their forums.

Ok guys a little update. The Pumas are taking a bit longer than I thought. I will release 2 versions.
1. The AS330 PUMA version in Fire Force/COIN configuration with an FNMAG mounted on port side and capacity for 12 soldiers and 3 crew.
2. The South African uprated version of the PUMA named the ORYX in a CASAVAC/Search and Rescue configuration. Capacity 6 soldiers, 4 wounded, 2 crew. (Injured can heal at heli as well as arm and rearm). I am looking for a winch script to use with the ORYX. If anyone knows of such a script please inform us.

  JOHNsArT's German Flak38 AA-gun Addon release    
JOHNsArT has released beta version 1.0 of his German Flak38 AA-gun on the BI Forums.

here i spend the Arma comunity,a new toy.-The German Flak38-2 cm-,used in WW2.

New changes in ver. (1.0):

* new Mesh
* more detailed textures
* better Rvmats setting + normal and specmaps
* better UVW coordinates
* more LODS
* accurat mesh scale

not fixed is atm the shadowlod

  Bush Wars Mod - Angola island screenshots Screenshots    
Raptor from the Bush Wars Conflict Mod has posted a few screenshots of pre-alpha version of their Angola island on their forums.

Hi,
now Ebud send us a pre alpha version of our miniteaser island.
So we can take a first look on it and of course some screens for you.

"To the North West is the Cuito river and the Cuanavale river to the North East. South East is the beginning of the Lomba Valley. This area will include the towns of Savate to the South, Mavinga and Jamba to the South East and Tumpo just South of Cuito Cuanavale."

The shown Map is just a placeholder to get a view on the topography of the area.
Berghoff is also going to donate some African trees, shrubs, bushes etc. for our map.

  Contaminated Ammo Container released Addon release    
EMSI released his Contaminated Ammo Container addon on our Forums.

Hi all ...
This small addon contains (empty) ammo box with labes which means presence of plumbeous case with Plutonium Pu-94.
It's a simply retex from original ammo box. Addon have also unlocked dead bodies available in editor through Civilian units.
Wooden box is available via: Empty - EMSI-Sutech - Container-Pu94
Dead bodies are available via: Civilian - Men - Contaminated body

  Tiberian Genesis Mod website and screenshots Screenshots    
Jack Hammersmith announces that the Tiberian Genesis Mod is back with a new website and forums.

The infantry killer "Wolverine" is finally on the battlefield.
War and pain for the NOD Soldiers have begun now!
Sam our great 3D artist has made a great job on the Wolverine model, and of course our new 2D artist Nodunit has also made a great job on his textures.

In the ingame pics you can also see some WIP things like the GDI RPG tower and our Dropship.
The plant on the left was not my idea ^^.

We are looking for talented texturers and modelers.

  Create walk animations easier Community    

MattRochelle has informed us that the Lost World Mod has posted on the BIS forums urging the community to persuade BI to release the animation tools to help them import their own Maya ones into O2. To sum up, without this tool it is very difficult to make realistic animations for their dinosaurs, and of course all others addons using special animations would be easier to create/import into ArmA!

We are supporting the Lost World Mod on this issue and hope that BIS will show one more time their great support and their interest for the community! You can read the full original post in the comments.

  ADF units WIP Screenshots    
Rico from the Australian ADF Mod has sent us several work in progress screenshots of their promising units. They include the troops (Auscam and Descam and different catagories), Landrover and Abrams. Troop skins are from VXR and Rico made retextures and configs. You can see more pictures by clicking on the comments.

These are BETA WIP shots taken while testing them, and dont represent the final quality of these addons.

  Sharper recoils and real rates of fire released Addon release    
Q1184 released an intersting addon in the BI Forums. It changes the recoils, and rates of fire for various weapons, to more realistic values.

As many of you may have noticed BIS recoils are a bit weird. Apart from being slow (BIS recoil starts after the shot) there is also some strange movement of the gun after the recoil itself. It quickly moves down and then up again, probably trying to simulate rezeroing. What I did was 1)Start the recoil the moment the shot starts, 2)Get rid of the barrel dive (almost to zero) and 3) Make the overall recoil cycle shorter. I liked the result and decided to share the stuff with the community. I would appreciate any constructive feedback to further improve this little mod.

  ASP SF Units v1.0 released Addon release    
BilOlson released his ASP SF Units v1.0 in the BI Forums. This addon adds 4 new SF units to each of the three sides, Bluefor, Opfor, Racs using default BIS models and characters.

I put this together for my squad because we play Coop only, specifically Spec Ops type missions and needed a Medic, then there was a few other roles that needed to be filled so here they are. I used default models/textures so not to make addon large in size and can be used with default units. (.pbo is only 16 kb (config only))

  Czech section opened About our website    
We are happy to announce that we have opened a new Czech section on ArmedAssault.info! Blondak, Cedule, Rsa Viper, Rycfield and Zemrelka are in charge of keeping it updated but also posting Czech related news.



If you didn't notice it yet, we also have a French and a German section up to date and manually translated. By the way we are currently looking for serious Russian translators to run this section too, you can contact us in our forums.

  DMSmokeEffects updated Addon release    
DMarwick released an update of his ArmA Effects addon in the BI Forums. Version 4.3beta includes the following changes :

v4.3b changes
- Extended Init compatible. (Extended Init addon v1.1 required, and included, with this release. If you already have Extended Init eventhandler addons you can delete them from the @DMSmokeEffects Addons folder.)
- Smoke grenades have AI viewblock functionality. The viewbock reacts to wind direction & strength.
- A new player Action, Wind info, is added. This is useful for smoke grenade usage, as well as general realism & ballistics addons. On use it will give you the strength & direction of the wind at the time you requested it.
- Frag grenades tweaked slightly to be lighter in colour.
- Full viewblock functionality is enabled for this "b" release on most DMSmokeEffects smoke effects. During heavy battles this can drag the FPS right down, but I release this version to get general feedback and results.

  XAM 1.3:05 Released Addon release    


snake22000 has released his updated 1.3:05A EN XAM MOD, on the BI Forums.

This version is fully compatible with ArmA V1.08 .
"1.3:05B" will be compatible with 1.09.
This is a full version so, you have to uninstall your former versions of XAM.
In this version : reported bugs corrected, performances improved.

Special thanks to Naash for the XAM tactical guide traduction (available too, right now).

XAM 1.3:05A US CHANGELOG :

- Installation of the mines (leaping) less risky for the player.
- Icons editor of the mines (leaping, claymore and traditional) changed.
- The mines are not visible any more on ingame map.
- Corrections of the equipment to the respawn for some units.
- Lag caused by the explosions of vehicles slightly decreased.
- Correction of the error message related to the laser rangefinder in the cases of ammunition.
- The icon of the cases of ammunition XAM in the editor is now representative of the angle of this one in the play.
- Return of the normal external sight..
- Vulcan can from now on carry out a zoom in mode concerned.
- Correction of the bug which prevented the mines claymores from exploding in certain cases.
- Light improvement of the performances.
- Bug of blocking on the ladders fixed.

- It is from now on impossible to enter a vehicle tractor drawn by UH-60.
- The Musical radio is not active any more in parachute during the ejection of the player.
- Any soldier having a laser rangefinder (fed with a battery) can use the module of measurement on this one.
