Protegimus informed the community that they have released a new version of their Zeus AI Combat Skills & AI Spotting Modular for the A.C.E. Mod
Zeus AI Combat Skills for A.C.E. is released and available from the download link in the first post.
This version is built for A.C.E. compatibility from the ground up, is tested in multiplayer & single player and causes no known issues.
To be clear, this is a dedicated version for A.C.E. (and actually requires A.C.E. to load). The original version is not required to work with A.C.E..
The original Zeus AI Combat Skills is still valid for standard and beta ArmA 2 play and will be updated when required. Release notes in the attached readme.
USSRsniper announced that he is working on a OTR-21 Tochka addon, and released one interior picture on the BI Forums. Its NATO reporting name is SS-21 Scarab, wich is a short range ballistic missile.
Trying to make detailed interior but not enough photos
Maggotsic informed us that he made a video to show how ACE works and looks in ArmA 2. Also there's short info how to install this (quick and simple) If you are having problems with install (using reccomended method - six update).
Old Bear has informed us about the release of an updated v-1.34- Sbrodj island on our Forums.
A new step in building Sbrodj :
V1.34 Public release, Changelog : - Modified .cpp as suggested by Kju (Thanks Kju !) - Repositioning misplaced trees and rocks in the Sbrodj Valley (bug report by Gutm@sher, thanks!) - Repositioning misplaced walls in Sbrodj.
Mondkalb informed us all that he released his unexpected Kellu Island on the BI Forums.
Features: - Four new -walkable- buildings - Parliament - Store - Office - Outlook - 145 new, smaller Objects - Parking lots - Roadsigns/Signposts - Street-name sings - Four new bird species - Potato clutter - Five to Six times bigger than Utes Island - No Airport - Nine Cities/Villages
I have tried (and hope to have succeeded in) creating an island, that is supporting infantry fight in many ways.
Therefore this island has some distinct key locations to aid mission designers in creating thrilling and demanding tasks. The island features huge cliffs, a remote castle, thrilling forests, mountains, raw countrysides, urban areas with larger towns, a rather sophisticated road net, and much more. But most important: It's kept realistic.
So don't expect sky scraping cities next to poor villages, bombastic Industry or an International Airport. In fact, since the Island of Kellu is quite small compared to real life islands, it doesn't even have any airports at all. A scruffy harbor has to do the trick..
The island's mountain region contains a large gold mine which created enormous prosperity, which resulted in a rather modern island.
Dimitri_Harkov released his Generic African Units v1.0 from the '70s on the BI Forums.
Installation: Use the usual: Set up a modfolder after extracting the archive and play (how-to).
What is it: The addon contains two generic African factions. The western UNITA and the eastern MPLA (both named after factions of the civil war in Angola).
Both have English voices, names from Angola and an array of old 70's weapons and vehicles.
Beware: If you are looking for ultra-realistic representations of specific African forces, you will be disappointed. These essentially are African people in old Soviet/CSLA uniforms respectively. Known Bugs: -UNITA soldiers have white hands
Credits: I want to point out that I didn't do a single model and only a few textures. Most stuff in here is from Project '85. Most of my work was with configs only.
Thanks to: -Vilas and everyone who contributed to his Project '85 -kju for pointing me to the right direction when I was close to getting mad -BIS for their games -my wife for sharing me with ArmA2 with patience
We got informed that on the IDEA games twitter page, a new official teaser video for patch 1.05 has been released.
New patch 1.05 for ARMA 2 will bring free additional content: new short campaign and new ingame model.
Teaser video introducing free additional game content available in ARMA 2 patch 1.05!
The video introduces the bonus campaign „Eagle Wing„ featuring the new AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The „Eagle Wing mini-campaign expands upon one of the seven unique endings of the original ARMA 2 over two extensive new missions: It's the year 2012, the war in Chernarus has overgrown into a conflict between the USA and the Russian Federation. The player finds themselves caught in the middle of an escalating conflict. As a pilot of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, the player's task seems easy - to get behind enemy lines and attack. However the situation is about to change rapidly...
