Beton has released an early beta of his Hürtgenwald map on the BI Forums. Be advised it's a Beta, still unfinished version.
Hi... i have made some little progress on my Hürtgenwald map. Even if it´s still in Beta i think about releasing it tonight together with the required objects. Since i regard some parts of the map as playable but not finished i´d like to hear comments and suggestions.
The roadnetwork works for Ai at most places but there will be more roads and paths added in the future. The vegetation is not finished everywhere since i have to make and add some winterplants. There are no military objects on the map for now since i have to test and redo many of my bunkers and so on. The groundtextures and clutter also will be adjusted in the future.
I´m a bit sorry that there are no ww2 Units released yet...but im not able to provide them
To play the map you need to download my Bet_addons 1.1 which will be updated with every new version of the map.
If you don´t like playing on betamaps don´t download it... to all the others have fun...
Notes : 1° Archive name have been modified to be hosted on our .ftp, for special char set such as "ü" are rejected. 2°Archive downloaded from Assault Mission Studio.de site is a repacked version containing the needed objects in Bet_addons_beta_1.1.rar

Old Bear has released his Winter Pomegratskaya v0.2 beta island on our Forums.
Winter Version of Pomegratskaya, an ArmA II Winter map. for small team PvP/TvT missions : DM, TDM, CTF, AAS, C&H ... . It's NOT a Warfare map !
On this map, two islands linked by a long seawall are making a nice place for an harbour.
- On the northern part there are 3 "modern" barracks, one near the harbor and 2 ruins of barracks from an other era, the Zadrovie village and the harbour. The north part is having also a factory/sawmill in the middle of plantation. A large telecomunication mast is set on the highest point of the map. A very special set of buildings is to be found at "Karantin", these ruined buildings are what was left of a 18th century quarantine hospital when the plague was infesting this area.
- On the southern part there are an airstrip and a "modern" base near it, 2 "disused" ruined barracks and 3 places used since the 18th century for naval arty batteries. In the middle of the southern part the village "Stary Cyelo", is only ruins around a ruined castle.
*Known issues : - The main issue for AI is the long seawall between the two parts of this island, - Winter ground textures are basics, it lacks winter vegetation and clutters.

The FDF Mod has released a huge pack of screenshots featuring the upcoming FDF Podagorsk map on the their site.
FDF Podagorsk
New terrain as a playground has been an essential part of FDF Mod. There were East Border and Rukajärvi for OFP. There was Podaga for Armed Assault. Of course we need something now, too. Podagorsk is an extended version of Podaga. For latest screenshots, there is a huge 50 MB rar archive. Invidual screenshots will be posted at both our own and BIS forums.

CheyenneAh56 has informed us about the release of his L159 plane addon.
The L 159A is a single-seat light multi-role combat aircraft designed for a variety of air-to-air, air-to- ground and reconnaissance missions. The aircraft is equipped with a multi-mode Doppler Grifo-L radar (a variant of the Grifo-F x-band multi-mode, pulse-doppler radar), for all-weather, day and night operations. The L-159A is in operational service with the Czech Air Force and in production.
Binkowski posted three new pictures of his latest work in progress.
WIP, new Army SF. Original models / textures done by Johannes who so kindly gave me permission to use / modify them in ArmA2. Expect a release of ACU, MCU, and maybe BDU
As stated on the BI Forums initial post release, the release of ACE for ArmA2 install as well as updates and patches will be made through rSync, the core tool of the "Six Updater" Suite.
There have been significant changes to the way we distribute our Mod. Due to the ever growing sizes of content, and thus installers and updates, we have switched to a realtime patching system, called rSync, which is the core tool of the "Six Updater" Suite. The software, once installed, can be used to install, update, maintain and repair managed modfolders. It uses smart technologies to minimize the amount of data that needs to be downloaded, and is a very lightweight and fast protocol.

Sickboy has released the long awaited A.C.E. Mod for ArmA 2 on the BI Forums.
A.C.E. Mod for ArmA 2
It has been nearly 1 year, since the A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Mod, for ArmA 1, was released. Since that release, we have been constantly working on our Mod, to improve it, expand it, and fix the things we could. In the meantime, ArmA 2 has been released for about 6 months, and our attention has been on the mod for ArmA 2, for at least that long.
Today we would like to announce our Public Beta Release. We intend to keep updating our Mod on a daily basis in this Public Beta stage. We do this to get as much feedback and bug reports as possible, as soon as possible, and provide everyone the latest code to test. This means the development will be ongoing, new improvements and additions will arrive as we go
What is A.C.E. and what is it not
A.C.E. for ArmA 2 is a full conversion mod and is based on A.C.E. for ArmA 1, which was based on WGL for OFP. The WGL roots were "When realism matters". We lifted this already a little bit with A.C.E. 1. And with A.C.E. 2 it is no different. We try to keep a balance between realism and gameplay. We try not to sacrifice either in name of the other. We try to please as many as possible, but it is simply impossible to please all. Please feel free to give constructive feedback on our choices.
The Package
The A.C.E. Package for ArmA 2 consists out of 3 building blocks:
* CBA: Community Base Addons * ACE: Core * ACEX: eXtras
CBA and ACE are a requirement, while ACEX is an optional expansion pack. This way, we hope to support our users who have requested smaller mod size, and ability to concentrate on their type of units/vehicles/weapons for countries they like to play with/against.
Our thanks goes to everyone involved in our Mod, from Developers to Testers, Contributors to Supporters, PR to Hosters, and Programmer- and Docu-wizards. Special thanks goes out to our Lead Developer, Rocko, who has devoted most (if not all ) of his free time and dedication to the mod's development.
Installer, Updater, Patcher
There have been significant changes to the way we distribute our Mod. Due to the ever growing sizes of content, and thus installers and updates, we have switched to a realtime patching system, called rSync, which is the core tool of the "Six Updater" Suite. The software, once installed, can be used to install, update, maintain and repair managed modfolders. It uses smart technologies to minimize the amount of data that needs to be downloaded, and is a very lightweight and fast protocol.
The technology has been in use for several months by the ACE team, and individual testers aswell as communities. Documentation will be provided, and support delivered where possible.
Our milestone releases will be available in easy mirrorable 7z files, to minimize the stress on the rsync system, and give people casual means to download the initial install.
Edit 19:20 Link to ACEX : extra disabled, it seems the archive we get from DevHeaven was not the right one. Reloading the full stuff, sorry for the inconvenience. Edit 8 Dec 2009 : Link to ACEX : extra available again after reloading the file, hope it will be ok.
