A relatively small desert island. It is a post-apocalyptic landscape, the idea of which is that it used to be woodland before a drastic environmental collapse of some description turned it into a desert. A newly constructed town sits to the north-east with barricades set up connected to the rest of the island by crumbling road networks.
Today we are proud to announce 3 new features, on our website. The first one is the IRC Community Chat to which we are inviting every ArmA fan. You can find an easy to use IRC Java Applet on our Left Menu (Scroll down a bit). A special thank goes out to Manday, he helped us implementing the IRC applet. You will need Java installed to use this service. If you are having problems connecting through our applet, feel free to use Mibbit instead.
If you are an experienced IRC user here are the details : (Server : irc.gamesurge.net , Channel : #arma)
The second feature is directed towards the addon maker of the community. We have come across more and more addons which did not include a proper readme file, that's why we have decided to create a basic and easy to use Readme Generator.
The third update has been made in our Addon Section. You are now finally able to Filter for Realism, Total Conversion, Replacement and Sound Mods.
Last but not least, we have noticed slower loading times, om our website (sometimes). Around the end of February we will get a more powerful server. We are sorry for the inconvenience !
KKB released a small fix for the Armed Assault artillery on the BIS Forums.
Hi there
Ever noticed the difference between the 2nd and 3rd LOD of the two Artillery Guns? On closer inspection in Boldozer I found it out, so I fixed it. Since it is a small download I thought why not release it. It replaces the BIS Models with my fixed ones, nothing else changes, besides the fixed 3rd LODs you shouldn't notice it is there at all.
If someone official is interested to include it in a future patch, I can send the MLODS (or detailed description of what was broken) over.
The IC Dev team is working on a new island. Alameda has more than 50 towns and an extensive road system as well as 4 separate bases for which units or whole divisions can be based. Development Team members Ignacio and Mickd have put a lot of effort in here and it shows.
The project is in early Alpha, no release date for a final version has been given. As Mickd from IC-Development Team, stated on the BI Forums :
We dont mind you downloading it and playing with it, just bear in mind that are bugs, it is a WIP and noone should be editing it. Indeed, any bugs you find, please post in the IC Alameda WIP thread.

STALKERGB has released his British Royal Marine Commandos, circa 2001, addon on the BI Forums. UKF weapon pack needed.
Hello peoples! Just another version of British RMC to play around with, these are based on RMC from around 2001. Before anyone asks they are different from the ones I previously released; -They now have woodland DPM Helmets rather than desert. -The backpack models are different from the previous RMC. -The blood actually works now! This addon is smaller than the previous RMC ones, took out some of the classes so now there is only: -Squad Leader -Rifleman -Marksman -Sniper -Medic -Grenadier -Automatic Rifleman
Update : Mike released more camo's of the Hilux. The addon now comes in desert, woodland, green and black camo. We have packed all camos in one archive !
petrtlach from the Army of the Czecho-Slovak Republic 1938 Mod published three new pictures of their latest work in progress Artmaster Draisine Tatra T 18 on their forums.
Miles Teg from the Lost Brothers Mod released a first version of their Taliban Units in the BIS Forums. This Taliban pack is a side project from The Lost Brothers Mod as we got tired of waiting around for someone else to make them. If anyone is serious about improving them or adding additional models to the pack, please contact me.
The addon consists of a squad of 8 Taliban soldiers (Under OPFOR: Taliban Insurgents) and 3 civilians (under Civilians:Taliban Civilians). They essentially represent Pashtun tribesman most commonly found in Waziristan, Pakistan and Taliban controlled areas of Afghanistan. Noted are their puffy pants and ethnic vests and whatever you call the front and back leg/waist covers commonly worn by many Pashtun. Headgear includes the traditional Pashtun cap, Persian style turbans, and Arab shamagh covering the entire face. The face models also have been highly modified to resemble faces of that region. This was mainly done by modifying the nose and chin of the face models.
The RPG and SA-7 guys will yell stuff in Arabic when they fire their RPG or SA-7 weapons. This will eventually be changed to the Pashtun language if I can find some good recordings (aside from the ever-popular "ALLAH'U AKBAR!" cry).
