Bad Benson has released a Green Berets - Astan-style Alpha addon on the BI Forums
hey folks, these are some us army special forces units i've been working on some time ago. i never released them cuz i never had the time to really finish them. someone saw them in screenshots made by guys i gave them to and requested a release...so here they are.
known issues: they have alot of rpt errors and some graphical glitches. i also couldn't get rid of the deformation issues they have when holding certain weapons ( like m21 sniper rifle). they also have a huge amount of textures and only pilot and first lods are done. since the arma OA heads aren't all of the same shape, the beard doesn't fit every head model. also the camoed faces look strange since these are desert area units. so if someone knows how i can determine in the config which faces they use, i can fix it. anyways. they are still useful and look ok from some angles
Finally I can release an Alpha version of the Mig-15 from ArmA 1 by Bdfy & Volksturm which me and PROTOTYPE 001 converted to ArmA 2.
First of all I would like to say that I take NO credit for this addon! and I would like to thank PROTOTYPE 001 for his work on the config. And before anyone asks, yes we do have permission!
I am having a lot of trouble with the config, crashes, errors and stuff but I managed to get the plane to show up on the Russian side, to have flaps working (although there is no animation for them) and PROTOTYPE 001 got most of the weapons, and sounds to work.
Known issues:
* The light on the right wing does not work, missing memory point in the model (we need the MLOD model for this) * The flaps on the wings have no animation, bad selections in the model (we need the MLOD model for this) * The cross hair in the cabin is a bit off centre, the pilots proxy needs to be adjusted in the model (we need the MLOD model for this) * Some weapons don't work (config needs to be tweaked) * Some other minor things need to be tweaked in the config

cj525 has informed us about the release of the long awaited ArmA II UNSUNG R1 Alpha Mod.
Well it's been a long road, for our team. But we are glad to release this intro to our vietnam mod. This is basically the foundation to our mod that we are quickly building on. It is an Aplha release, there are known issues that we are debugging but if we waited for all the issues to be dealt with Arma III will be already out.
THe island is a fictional area based on CSJ's Arma I lowlands. Everyone in the mod team worked as hard as Real Life would let them on this and previous unsung mods (OFP/ARMA I).
There are three SP missions that come with this release, we will be releasing more including various MP missions in the weeks to come, but we decided we didn't want to wait any longer. Plus I know the community will be making there own missions and we look forward to trying them out.
Robalo_AS has released on the BI Forums , asr AIrearming v0.92 beta, an updated version of the VFAI_EquipmentVictorFarbau has previously released as public domain.
AI_Equipment enables units to independently equip themselves with weapons and ammo from dead bodys. Further information and details included in the readme file. I advise you to read the readme file - it might explain some behaviour you wonder about.
AIrearming v0.92 beta
- More optimisations - Ammo that goes into primary or secondary slots is handled separately. This means AI with a rifle GL will also grab GL ammo when found. - When looking for a weapon because the current one is empty, don't pick up same weapon

This is just a fun addon for those who might like to check it out. It's my M-107 FUBAR. You know what that means. It has both Night Vision and all the Thermal Modes and fires something close to 30mm cannon shells.

Xeno426 has released an updated Vilas Weapons Pack v1.1 on the BI Forums.
The purpose of this mod is to update Vilas' West Weapons Pack and Russian Weapons Pack to Operation Arrowhead standard. Among the things updated are the inclusion of OA's new zeroing system for weapons that should have them (to the best of my knowledge), new icons for all weapons that Vilas didn't already provide icons for, a few new sounds for several weapons (APS, APB, M60, M60E3, RPG-22, RPG-26, SKS, G3, AS Val, FN MAG), improved and cleaned up the text from the mod and made it easy to add additional language support, and finally the disposable launchers (RPG-22, RPG-26, RPO-A) make use of Inko's Disposable Launchers system. The names of a few vanilla BIS weapons were changed to help to both distinguish them from their Vilas counterparts and to give them more accurate names. 1.1 Added changes to Vilas' ammo boxes Edited Carl Gustav; now has two different rounds Improved strings table Fixed compatibility with ANZIN's weapons mod Fixed issues with some weapons being set to private Fixed texture issue with Galil ARM
Polish GI from the The Unsung War Mod has informed us about the release of the Unsung Mod Handbook for the upcoming The Unsung Mod release.
Enclosed is a 129-page pdf document outlining our MOD to date. It covers who we are and what we intend on doing. The table of contents organizes the handbook into easy to follow sections.
We provide brief backgrounds of each small arms weapon along with an in game screenshot for our readers. This allows readers to read about specific weapons that saw action during the Vietnam Conflict. Along with the small arms, we also provide background histories for our vehicles and aircraft that are included in the upcoming release.
Other sections in the handbook include: a script section so the community can make better use of our MOD (e.g. infantry shoulder patches, vehicle art, helicopter art etc), background on the island in the MOD, background histories of the units that served in Vietnam along with the various service branches.
Lastly, we have included various appendices in the back. The weapon chart covers all of the weapons included in the MOD and their associated weapon/magazine name for editors. We have an appendix for all vehicles and aircraft included as well. We also took the time to include all of the various groups that are available to the mission makers via the editor.
Please note, this handbook is a work in progress and we will be editing it as we go forward with future releases. This handbook is also subject to alterations in case an error is found by us or by the community.
We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoy making this handbook and the MOD for the community.
