  31st Normandy mod for ArmA2: Patch .99c released Addon release    
Rip31st has informed the community on the BI Forums about the release of a patch .99c for the 31st Normandy mod.

The update today contains fixes for the older style infantry, addresses an issue where the bofors gunner could not be killed. Resolves a texture issue with the 8.8cm flak 36. And addresses the issue of a few aircraft that were not attacking ground units or other aircraft.

  WX_WW2 to run alongside 31st Normandy Mod Addon release    
Waxbutter has informed us about the release of WX_WW2 addon Mod on the BI Forums. This totally unexpected addons pack made to run alongside with 31stWWA2 mod features a lot of nice addons from the Sten to the BMW R75.

This addon-Mod is to be used together with 31stWWA2 mod.

The UniversalCarrier, MorrisFat and GMC-Truck are equipped with some weapons and ammo.

You can drop your weapon on the ground,

Its work in progress so the textures are far from finished,
some models dont even have good UV-maps, tho its still very playable.
Please use this mod in a save manner so you can have lotsa fun with it.

  Thirsk Island by Raunhofer released Addon release    
Raunhofer has released his Thirsk Island on the BI Forums. This map release comes with KuiK's Winter Camos addon featuring re-textured original BIS Arma 2 basic units (not inc. Civils and Insurgents) and Thirsk missions, the official pack of 7 coop MP missions.

Winter War ended exactly 70 years ago on this day, 13.3. with the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty.

With the peace treaty, Finland was forced to cede a tenth of its pre-war territories, including cities like Vyborg, Sortavala and Käkisalmi.
Additionally, Hanko had to be rented to the Soviet Union as a naval base for 30 years.
430 000 Karelians lost their homes.

Thirsk is a story from the borders of Finland and the deceased Soviet Union.
If you close your eyes and listen carefully, you can still hear the distant grumble of artillery salvos and infantry shouting "Hurraa!"
The area has been under Finland's and Soviet's control, which can be seen from the ruined communist villages and statues.

It is time to recall the memories of Thirsk and take up arms for one last time!

This tank has realistic hitpoints.
I mean, the tank destroyed when a shell go through armor (RHA 45mm).
Deflecting don't cause fatal damage.

  Sahrani Civilians 1.0 by Icewindo Addon release    
Icewindo has released a Sahrani Civilians 1.0 addon ported from ArmA on the BI Forums.

Contains Sahrani Civilians from ArmA1 converted to ArmA2
Changes from the ArmA1 models:
-darkened blood textures to match ArmA2 blood textures
-replaced the original rvmats with ArmA2 rvmat setups, they look a bit more crispy graphics wise this way
-edited uv layout for the shorts-models as BIS removed the leg texture from the face textures
-replaced old heads with ArmA2 heads, likewise replaced geo, fire, etc. LOD
Note:
The "weighted" civilians ("...tulstoch.p3d") couldn't be included as BIS didn't create a "weighted" face for ArmA2.

  US Army Special Forces v1.02 by Massi released Addon release    
Massi has informed us about the release of an updated US Army Special Forces units v.1.02 addon on our Forums.

Changelog v.1.02:
-Added new "Heavy Gear" classes in ACU,"multicam",desert and woodland uniforms (retextured BI Assault rifleman and grenadier Force Recon).
-Added "ghillie" snipers\recon units and team for woodland and desert environment.
-Added basic rifleman , granadier and disarmed unit class for all the unit's classes.
-Added balanced groups in the editor for all the classes.
-Added ACE2 OPTIONAL Config files: this files replace US SF gear and weapons with the ACEX ones, USE ONLY ONE REPLACEMENT AT A TIME (REQUIRE ACEX)!!!.
-Added 4 replacement file: you can chhose to replace standard BI Force Recon models with ACU, multicam, woodland or desert Special Forces ones...REMEMBER TO USE ONLY ONE REPLACEMENT FILE AT A TIME!!!
-Fixed\Improved some textures.

  Italian Special Forces by Massi updated Addon release    
Massi has informed us about the release of an updated Italian Special Forces v1.082 addon on our Forums as well as a SOF AB412 chopper pack.

v1.082 date 10/Mar/2010

-Fixed "multicam" light recon units textures.
-Fixed "vegetata" textures.
-Crews now come in "desert" and "vegetata" uniforms.
-Added an ACE2 optional config file (to be used only with ACEX).
-Added another replacement file for "desert" environment islands.


And this is just a small Extra for all the Italian SOF users…
They’re 4 models ingame, one standard and one with Medical abilities for both the 2 camos.
They require Italian SOF v.1.082 (look just above for them), and once installed you’ll find them in the editor under:
Bluefor - Italian SOF - Italian Army aviation
So now our Italian Spec Ops don’t need to go always around on foot !!!

  Afrenian Army released Addon release    


IceBreakr informed the community that he has released his Afrenian Army addon for Arma 2's Isla Duala island on the BI Forums.

With the help of LoBo and GIR Team Afrenian Army got its first unleased vehicle for army & police operations: Pinzgauer 710M 4x4!
zGuba, Panda, NZDF Crash, wld427 & Randy put extra effort in the project and I would like to thank them for all their work, help and support. You guys are great.

Known issues:
- Vehicle floats at the back if both wheels get blown off
- Cabin windows don't break properly yet
- Rpgs can rip through the back soft cover (feature? heh)
- "Polisie" written backwards on the right side (texture optimization, unable to fix)

Guys, be extra careful offroading with pinz. New 2.7-litre engine can produce severe torque and vehicle can be very fragile when hitting solid objects (tnx Cpt. Obvious!).

  Pазорения island released Addon release    
LJF has informed the community about the release of his Pазорения island on the BI Forums.

Разоренный which is Razoreniya, "ruin", a Soviet settled island near Madagascar, the name means ruin.

Description:
5.12 x 5.12 km

I wanted to go for the tropical[ish] Africa, so there's some near-jungle around as well as the typical savanna-type places.

There isn't a lot of settlement, though there is a ruined Soviet city in the west and scattered farms other small constructions about the place. This is partly due to taste and partly because I want mission makers to have plenty of room and not be locked into a set plan.

Rip31st has informed us about the release of a patch .99a for the 31st Normandy mod.

Version .99a
Notes: Fixed players respawning in single player missions with modern weapons, added US 60mm mortar classes to each parent class of US infantry. Code provided in this readme addresses multiplayer issue of spawning/respawning without weapons.

  Stalker Units 0.5a by Icewindo Addon release    
Icewindo has released a Stalker Units 0.5a addon on the BI Forums.

Contains Units for ArmA2 converted from the PC game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" of GSC Gameworld with their permission (see credits).

Changes to the models were done in the following:
-Created named selections for animating the units
-Added blood textures
-Added Several LODs
-added models with ArmA2 heads

The units will animate in general ok, but as they're completely different models than stock ArmA2 and as a limit of my skills,the units will look funny from the side when kneeling and have stretching issues in some death positions. So, consider this a WIP release.

  Officers Pack v1.2 released Addon release    
Marseille77 released a new updated version v1.2 of his Officers Pack on the BI Forums.

This addon contains 3 different Officers of the West German Army from the 1970's to the 2000's, 2 Policeman version of the GDR, 2 olympic Sportswoman (clothes style of Summer Olympic Games 1988 in Seoul), Makarov and West German Policeman.

  Swedish Army Mod Beta 1 released! Addon release    
Mr. Bravo from the Swedish Army Mod informed the community that they have released a beta version of their Swedish Army Mod on the BI Forums.

-Swedish units and gear-

We try to bring out all ideas about Swedish stuff that are possible in ArmA2. Soldiers, weapons and combat-vehicles, but also more random stuff like buildings, bunkers, camouflaged-nets, civilan stuff, and static objects that can be of interest for serious mission-editors. The only two demands we have on our content is that it should somehow be connected to Swedish military scenarios, and be of a certain quality to match the game.

This also means that we actually dont have any detailed plans of how the mod will end up and what it will contain. We will always be open for new and more ideas. In other words, there will always be something to work on!


-Modern graphic quality of the content-

Sure, good looking graphics isnt everything in a game, but it damn sure adds a massive touch of atmosphere and realism that we all want in our favourite games! All the content of SAM will be of good quality that matches the graphics of ArmA 2 (Some place-holders might occur though). This means that we will avoid porting stuff straight from OPF and ArmA1.

Instead we look for people who are willing to contribute with new or updated content, no matter if it's a simple retex of an ammo-box, or a whole new setup of soldier-models. All work and contributions are appreciated, encouraged and noted!

-Begin small, end epic-

Even if we're happy to recieve just about anything that is connected to Swedish stuff, we of course still have priorities. Right now at the beginning our focus is mainly to build up a complete and useful set of infantry with any gear they might use. As these things get finished, and we get more people working on the project, we will move focus to transports and simpler vehicles, and then heavy armored vehicles and air. Basicly it's all about finishing what you started, to avoid ending up with a mod that just contains a lot of unfinished stuff.

-Full support for ACE2-

One of the major reasons to why we started this project is because we wanted our Swedish units to use as much of the awesomeness of ACE2 as possible. In other words, ACE2 will be required to run SAM as it's intended to.
We will do our best to keep SAM updated with the latest functionality of ACE2, and make sure they run smoothly together.


-Open development-

We will have as active communication with the community as possible on several different forums, and always seek feedback on the contents of SAM. Praise or hate us, just come with something informative so we can either improve or explain ourselves.

Experienced "war-junkies" with special requests or faults to point out are especially welcome to come with detailed feedback. Since ArmA2 is a "simulator", we want our stuff to be as realistic as possible to match the gameplay.
We will show and inform about our latest work as often as possible, and what's being planned in the nearest future. Questions are answered and we will try to be as accurate as possible with future release-dates.

The Swedish ArmA2-clan SSG will however work as our main base for testing and discussions. If you dont speak swedish, then this is our international official thread for any related discussions. We will update both places with just about the same information.

NSX from the Red Hammer Studios has released a RHS v1.0 BMD-2 pack on the BI Forums.

Alright, gentlemen. Today we, Red Hammer Studios, would like to make our very first (and definitely not the last) release in ArmA2.   Italian Special Operation Forces v1.08 Addon release    
Massi informed us on our forums that he has released version v1.08 of his Italian Special Operation Forces .

Hi all,

I’ve updated my Italian Special Operation Forces to version 1.08.

This time is just a little update, first of all I’ve fixed the flag on the wrong arm ‘s bug.
I’ve added also Ghillie sniper and recon units in three different camos, for temperate , desert and winter environment.

I’ve added also Italian pilot and crew models and some new units classes such as basic rifleman and grenadier, sapper and disarmed units.

You’ll find also 2 replacement files:
- All USMC Replacement : replace all USMC (marines, force recon, pilot and crew) models with Italian ones.
- Only Force Recon Replacement: replace only Force Recon models with Italian ones.
USE ONLY ONE REPLACEMENT FILE A TIME!!!

v1.08 date 06/mar/2010

-Added new Ghillie recon\sniper units in Woodland, Desert and Winter camos.
-Added Pilot and Crew .
-Added more unit classes(standard rifleman and grenadier, sapper, disarmed units, ecc...).
-Added 2 NEW REPLACEMENT files that replace standard BI USMC and Force Recon models with the Italian ones (Use only one at time).
-Fixed Italian flag and patches on the wrong arm
