I think we are getting off topic guys.
I served in the Australian Army for 9 odd years before leaving to take up secuirty work. I dont see myself as a soldier.

At the moment this is about a FICTIONAL conflict and about HAVING fun, so i think all 'experts' should shut thier mouths, true to life PMCs and 15 yr olds all the same stop your bitching and enjoy this great game coming up. :)

Not every soldier fights for money "BEONIST". You fucktard just don't have a coutry with people you will fight for. And no friends who would do the same.

Maybe YOU will even not defend your mother and sister if you get not paid right.

As 4you my MERC friends - not for all money in the world would you fight and die in Verdun, Stalingrad, Kursk and other for the coutry important battles where millions of real soldiers have died for their coutry and nation. Thats why you will never be equal with a soldier fighting for his country.

I am a Security Tech based in Sydney, and members of our company have served in armed conflicts, namely Iraq and Eastern Europe.
Legally they are mercs, people with no national affiliation to either party, for personal or commercal gain. However, they do prefer to be known as PMC's or in our case, 'Security Dudes who rock out with thier c*cks out'

I always thought PMC is just a jazzed up name for a mercenary. Since according to the following: A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict, who is not a national or a party to the conflict, and "is motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party" (Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Convention of August 1949). Which is for the most part what PMCs do.

On topic:
Also these kind of events help ARMA as of late, most MP missions have been very stale.

Not necesary, but I don't understand your logic. Every soldier fights for money, and it's more notable in this era.
So, every soldier is a killer?

A merc does (or has to do) what they are told, and nothing else.

PMCs consist of mercs ;)
And both are happy about killing people without fear of justice.

Do you know that to most poeple in the trade it is an insult to call a PMC a mercenary because they are not the same thing?
