Agreed with Old Bear! Let's wait till BIS come up with the answer
|
|
|
You got BIS, they have stated many times OFP success has been from the modding community. They run a very mod/addon focusd and have mostly set it up so that people help other people learn.
BIS are a company, a business just like any other with a publisher with legal rights, lawers and properities.
If they were just to say ok, take all the models out of the game and post them on the internet do you not think someone up the chain would say..."WTF are you doing!!!???" ;)
IMHO i think the illeagle based MLOD that have been released should recieve no more updates and no new models should be made from them.

Well I personally think they have all the right to want their models to be kept in ArmA (not exported in other games).
Yes it's important to see their answer.

I think BIS are quite humble people, that's not the problem. We, at Armed Assault.info have open the Pandora box, and I feel a bit annoyed at over reacting comments. We are not a bunch of pirates and BIS are nice guys ! BIS is right in protecting its work and intellectual property. But the question is on the open and I don't think it will be possible to turn a 'blind eye' on modding operations now. Let's cool down it a bit and give time to BIS to answer.

Sorry if I don't like BIS slowing down the community of months.

I agree with SE7EN and Sentient. BIS only reacted to a clear abuse of their work and freely distributing the results and I think that it is what any company even most individuals would do. They (no one) dont deserve to be pounded like that.
DVR: I think there are even people here who should be more humble=q

I think that they are afraid that nobody will buy ARMA2 if the internet will be full with hundreds of addons that make the gameplay much better than in ARMA2 I hope that BIS will make a compromise and close the eyes because this community only helps the game and i'm sure that it will continue with ARMA2

I agree with Sharpy.
Rotten apples from the dieing tree of consumism.
They'll be better walk back on their decisions, or they (the company) will die.
We know it, they know it.
Bis is nothing without the community, we have way more power than them, still they play the dominating role.
Bis needs to learn to be humble.

If Bohemia Interactive has it plan to release their core for the bublic, they will give info about it. Before that we do not have any rights to use it.
So answer is simple. This mod is illegal.

I dont know why now its such a big problem because it was the same for OFP and no one said nothing... You still need to buy the game to use the addons and the addons are free so its not some kind of scam. I dont know what bothers BIS so much, the comunitty just tryes to make the game better
