Are you really upset because someone reminds you what is right and what is wrong? Give a little respect to development and copyright. You can use all but you need permission from author. Ask yourself what will you do (as company) if someone rip your developed stuff and place it on public servers? It's rude isn't it?
It's now overheated again. Calm down and simply ask and discuss in proper way.

First, they did not want to take the time to give us a tool to make proper animations for Dinos, and now this...

There was no tool!! SmileyDickhead got it all wrong. He heard something that an insider had heard that wasn't exactly right. In conjunction with a menu feature on an old obsolete RC of O2PE and a few unfounded rumours - in Smiley's imagination at least - turned into a mythical "tool" that BIS were never able to produce.

BIS didn’t shaft the community that time, Lost World shafted themselves.

@Benoist
MLOD is the editable format of a P3D
ODOL is the binarised (uneditable) format of a P3D

@All
My own opinion is that BIS made a move in reaction to the MLOD's public release. They didn’t consider the knock on consequences of saying "it is illegal to reverse engineer ArmA Content".

And to be frank, i doubt they can safely say anything else now. I suspect they will just turn a 'blind eye' to addons made from the MLODs but should the models end up in other games then they will take action.

I wonder why BIS can not tolerate this for the sake of community! :(

Well if BIS arent careful then this could kill a community built on the OFP foundation. If its wrong now, it must have been wrong for the last 6 years!!

And TheVipersFang ..... why the hell are you even here? lol

Fact 1 : ArmA exists because BI built it and sell it, that's good.
Fact 2 : Reverse engeneering from ArmA is illegal, it's bad.
Fact 3 : ArmA still exists due to the strong support of the community, that's good.
Fact 4 : Modders making all kind of modifications, featuring all sorts of armies, weapons, lands, ... are the core of the community, that's great.
Fact 5 : At ArmA release, there where no tool, no documentation available to modders, that was a pity.
Fact 6 : Modders take a part of their knowledge from previous OFP or/and from ripping open BI Models, that's well known from everybody among modders.
Fact 7 : Sharing and publishing knowledge about the game and mods on community web site and forums as Armed Assault.info, that's our job.

Publishing MLOD was telling loud and clear what everybody among the modders knows, but quoting the Bible "... woe to that site by whom the offence cometh !", so it was a faulty move but now we must be given a clear rule of conduct.

Is modding a right thing from BI point of view ?
Is sharing informations a right thing from BI point of view ?
Is BI ready to release all the official documentation, tutorials, models and so on, modders need to build models from scratch ?

I hope so because it's the future of the game.

bottom line is that bis will become just another codmaster, the very one that they despised. The apple never falls to far from the tree, and soon enough it start to rotten . Sad, very sad.

Clearly if bis would have made there models decent and more professional in the first place , then people would not have to improve them to make more worthy for arma.

Plus bis are to far up there own back side any way's, the cheek as they offered there best version of arma to the general public when it was released and only a beta version at most.

Most probs cos brown nose-ing the army and there vbs2 version & needed the public cash to found it lol.

Although it's not right stilling other peoples models with out there consent or permission which is wrong,but could be an easy mistake to make if your new at the modeling game ect...
