We were told that arma was a filler and was changed at the last months and was to include some game2 things , i never expected game2 to look much differerent to be honest ,but all i can say now i saw those videos which are from as recent as febuary , if thats all they have from a whole team working since ofp 2003 on game2 ,then i am very very dissapointed indeed at this moment in time . I hope bis can salvage some dignity again before they leave the game world and concentrate on there VBS series :(, to me it seems they are providing us with as near possible the same engine as vbs2 without upsetting the buyers ,so the community can be used as a research and design platform and there things and there talent can be picked off at will.

well I like this kind of presentation more than the prerendered crap from CM. Graphics look truly improved and I do like the building destruction model. Add some animation and some dust here and there and it will do what it's thought for.
Of course its built upon ArmA1, there was never the announcement ArmA2 would be a completely new game. You see the connection between ArmA 1&2, but as well this doesn't mean anything bad. Bug fixes of ArmA1 also influence the development of ArmA2, so I'm sure it won't be as buggy as ArmA1 v1.00 (though I think most ppl here didn't even the first version of arma).
I also really like the environment. The trees, the grass, it looks like a central europe scenery and I really like this.
The only negative is the AI, which doesn't seem to that much improved as seen in the first urban combat videos.

It was not BIS who released these videos! It's not official
|
|
|
It seems BIS still hasn't learned that you should NOT release any footage that's still very WIP or looks like complete shit (poor quality vids: that's not really a way to get fans excited). Stuff like that makes people, including myself, turn their heads to OFP2.

Not impressed from what I've seen so far. Granted, it is a game that is still in development and things can change; however, all I really see is graphical improvements.
Right now I don't see it as any more than an expansion pack, or Arma 1.5 at the most, not a new game.
Just my 0.2 Canadian Cents in thoughts. :)

pll, all that say soldiers look loke sh*t. thats the preview of ARMA.
DO U SEE THAT BIS WHERE STILL WORKING AT THE SOLDIER MODELS ????
they where in as placeholders. u all feel well if u can say oh that game is shitty ??? why are u playing it ??
why are u modding it ??
if all pll say to a modder he is making shit, when its WIP than he may also stop working and beeing pissed !!
WIP=work in progress, so judge like that.
and listen to the man speaking.
the AI is really brillant. they move better in the envoiment than many player in this community :D
i will buy arma2 thats shure for 150% ;)
