  IMW Mod WIP shots Screenshots    
The Iraq Modern War Mod has sent us a few WIP shots of their upcoming addons. You can watch even more screenshots on their website.

First off, I would like to talk a little about our missions so far
This mod is not all about extreme action. You need to pick your shots well.
We focus on the preservation of life so you will have reprucutions for
shooting civilians. That is one thing we are working on. There are 2 maps
in the making. We can't go into much detail at the time but Opteryx has
been working really hard on one of them. And reblman has been working on
the second.

Okay we would also like to put out a personal thanks to everyone that has
supported us without you guys we would not have the drive we do..! Also, a
huge thanks to all our team members.

  Aimpoint Desert Weapons Pack updated Addon release    
AimPoint informed the users of the BI Forum about his updated Aimpoint Desert Weapons Pack. This pack adds a desert camo to many ArmA rifles. Furthermore benos made a replacement pack. You can download both files below !

Changes in 1.1

-Six new weapons M4A1CQB , M4A1CBQSD , M4A1SD GL Acog , M4A1GL Ironsight , M249 with Acog optic and SPR silenced.
-New ammo type for the SPR silenced (300 Whisper 125gr 8.1g 640 m/s).
-Texture improved..some at least.
-Materials improved.
-Config improved,now all the weapons are compatible with custom sound mods.
-SPR SD Sight Adjustament compatible.
-M107 with tree differens type of ammo and custom inventory pics.
-M17 Tracer (Tracer Ball)
-Mk211 Mod 0 HEIAP (High Explosive Incendiary Armour Percing).
-Mk300 Mod 0 HEIAPT (Same as above but with Tracer Ball too).
-M107 zoomable optic.
-Addon Signed.

  Iraq/Iran Border Map updated Addon release    
Allie updated his Iran-Iraq Border Map and released version 0.3 on the BI Forums. For now this is the last update, and Allie will move on to another project.

Ok this is it, i have enough of this island.
It will have some bugs, but for now i can live with it. I might update it one day, but for now THIS IS IT !
If you want you can be busy for years to make an island, there's always something, somewhere, or somebody even :)

  ArmA : Cold War Rearmed Demo released Addon release    

DaV!d Armstrong informed us, thatraedor from Cold War Rearmed team has posted about the Cold War Rearmed Demo release on the BI Forums. So the mod has been released as a Christmas present, enjoy it !
ArmA 1.09 beta patch is needed to run Cold War Rearmed.

Bohemia Interactive and the Cold War Rearmed team are delighted to announce the first release of the Cold War Rearmed Modification for Armed Assault. This release tries to bring the OFP Demo State to Armed Assault.

  OFP in ArmA Bunker released Addon release    
Mr Burns imported several OFP objects to ArmA and released them on the BI Forums.

OFP objects ported to ArmA so we can have some fun with ´em.

  SWAT Units released Addon release    
The addonmaker gT.SWAT-guy released his SWAT unit addon over at the BI Forums

WAT Units by SWAT-guy

Queen's Gambit is required to use this addon.

extract SWAT.pbo & SWAT_Weps into the Addons folder in the main ArmA folder directory.
There two types of units "SWAT Units' they wear LAPD style navy blue uniform
And there's "Police Units" they wear Black BDU with "Police" patch on back

  Marpat woodland marines v2 released Addon release    
Pauliesss released an updated version of his woodland marine units in the BI Forums

Updates:
- complete retexture of equipment
- shoulder pockets are now smaller and in right angle
Bugs:
- cats eyes still not working

  FDF Sound Pack 1.31 hotfix for ArmA 1.09 beta patch Addon release    
SmartDrv from the FDF Mod has released a hotfix for the FDF Sound Pack on the FDF Mod Forum. Only use this hotfix if you are using ArmA 1.09 beta patch.

* 1.31 hotfix
- Fixed muted vehicles after 1.09 beta
- Fixed rocket launchers firing sound issues

  XAM 1.4 (without password) Addon release    

snake22000 has released the XAM 1.4 mod in the official Forums. The password has been removed and the unprotected file is now on our server.

For the other ones, the mod is available right now, without code, in the "files" section
The XAM tactical guide is still in progress and should be released soon.
a "XAM server guide" and an "XAM editing guide" are already available.

Play it on a non-XAM Server will cause you a lots of bugs !

Coming soon :

- XAM 1.4:01 update (bugs correcting, new features added)

Thanks for the FSF and HLW betatesters who eradicated most of the bugs and allowed to optimize the mod.

  Mapfact releases Dynamic AI Creator 2.0 for ArmA! Addon release    

Mapfact has released their long awaited DAC v2.0 by Silola on the BI Forums. Mapfact has also published a comprehensive document about DAC v2.0 to be found here on Mapfact web site.

Two years after the release of DAC V1.0 for OFP, we are glad to announce DAC V2.0 is ready to be downloaded by you, though the development took more time, than we thought.

DAC (the short version for "Dynamic-AI-Creator") is a large-scale script project by Silola.

In (so called) "AI-zones", waypoints and units of different categories and sides are being generated. If you play a mission using DAC, you will get a different game experience every time restarting the mission. This is the result of every AI-zone being generated every time, when you start the mission.

Furthermore, when using DAC, your mission will gain momentum and replayability will increase drastically in comparison with standard missions. Nevertheless mission designers have to spend more time in balancing the opposite forces and in testing their mission.

The script is able to maintain supplies, in a dynamic, but by mission designers controllable way. The AI respawns at fully generated camps, so it is possible to create large, long lasting missions using DAC.

New features, such as global troup movements, or multiple de-/activation of AI-zones are taking mission design to a new level..

Features of the version 1, as for example the AI-Respawn or the DAC-AI-Addon, is also included but in better shape.

Even though already mentioned in the readme, thank you very much to all freelance translators! Without their help, a release of DAC would have to be delayed till the next year.

  ArmA Beta Patch 1.09 Official    

Bohemia Interactive has released an ArmA Beta Patch 1.09 on the Community WiKi. Full engine and data changelogs are to be founded on the WiKi.

WARNING: THIS IS AN INTERIM PUBLIC BETAVERSION. IT'S NOT A FULLY TESTED STABLE RELEASE

1.09 HIGHLIGHTS - MAIN NEW IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES
* significantly smoother gameplay on Northern part of Sahrani (up to 100% increase in frame rate depending on scene, video settings and graphics card)
* combat AI improvements
* voice over net and multiplayer related fixes and improvements
* new anti cheating methods in multiplayer (including optional www.BattlEye.com depending on server settings: if enabled, be server and be client dlls will be used and automatically updated to your computer)
* fixed compatibility problems caused by various copy protections used
* fog is rendered correctly on DX10 generation cards
* new scripting functions (string manipulation, multiplayer synchronization)

  Real Combat Photography contest Community    



Armedassault.info is proud to announce the launch of the Real Combat Photography contest or RCP-contest for short.

We hope this contest will promote combat photography and creativity in both 2D art and addonmaking, and to show to newcomers what ArmA is capable off.

Entries can be submitted from Friday December 21st 2007 until Saturday January 5th 2008 @ 22:00GMT (11PM). Entries sent even a minute later than this will not be accepted. You can enter into the contest by posting your entry into [this forum topic] along with the information that is required as per the Conditions of Entry that can be found in the same topic. After January 5th there will be a pre-selection, and we will inform you of who has made it through to the final. We will then proceed to judging the finalists resulting in the numbers 1, 2 and 3 being announced.


The entries will be judged by prominent community figures based on the following system:

The number 1 gets three points, number 2 gets two points and number 3 gets one point. After all of the votes have been collected, all votes will be put into a ranking, which will result in a winner, runner up and third place. Should there be a tie, the least edited (so the image that looks most like stock ArmA) will win.

  Aircraft shelter updated Addon release    
EddyD updated his shelter objects and released a new version on the BI Boards

I have removed the first shelter because it had too many bugs.
Now there are 2 new hardend aircraft shelters (beta) for download
They do have working animated doors and better protection against bombs

sirupdzija released his YouTube Based Soundmod (YTBS) version 1.0 in the official forums.

DESCRIPTION: All the sounds used in this mod were recorded from youtube movies,
real weapons and vehicles.

  Armed Assault.info main server is back ! About our website    

After a week of expectations and difficult connections, I am glad to announce that our new server has been delivered and that after some hard work from our site core admin, Armed Assault.info site situation is going back to normal.
Site is still needing some tuning and tweaking, but we are on the right path !
