  Finland At War 1939-1945 WIP Screenshots    
Von Rundstedt released 2 new screenshots showing Finnish soldier in M/36 uniform and Soviet combined forces on the BI Forums.

More Finnish soldiers.

There wasn't enough snow camouflage suits (or white bed sheets) for everybody in finnish army at 1939. So second most common uniform was either greatcoat or M/36 service uniform. Towards the end of war situation was even worse. (Click on thumbnail for whole picture)

And mandatory in-game screenshot. Still on Winter Kolgujev, but work on new island has finally begun.

A look back over the past year as we approach a new milestone!



Two Years
Wow, the time has really flown by, I looked back the other day at the CWR developer blog I wrote back in September 2007, the team was just 6 months into the porting of Cold War content over to ArmA. At the time we had high expectations, things seemed to be moving quickly at the time in terms of some of the core developement. We were confident at the time that the community would help us out ...

Resistance
Time was becoming a factor, 2 years after project started we only had the initial release. The original mile stone was to release the Resistance content after the '1.46' released. ArmA II was quickly approaching and we had originally planned to release the Resistence ReArmed portion later, so it left us wondering about what to do with the Resistance content. For the most part, the content already resided on the svn, but it needed some TLC and plenty of time to figure out the best way to incorporate into the already existing mod. Do we release 2 mods or just one super mod? Most of the missions out there, the really good 'fan made' missions were already using the Resistance content, so we made some plans to just integrate resistance into the whole ball of wax. Good news for the fans! ...


Community Contributions
Over the course of the development, the CWR Team accepted alot of content from various people. Some of these generous artists have left the community over the last little while, and a new batch of people years later have stepped and offered thier models, thier talents, thier time to help out the ColdWar ReArmed Mod. The list is so long that I wouldn't want to chance missing anyone by name, so kudo's and many thanks go out to all those people who will have helped us shaped ColdWare ReArmed. ...

ArmA II
Back in February, the team took stock in the pending ArmA II release expected sometime this year. We really needed to reach one of our milestones, preferably before Armed Assault II hit the retail shelves. ...

  Bush Wars Conflict Mod :32 Battalion Soldiers Pack released Addon release    
ObmaR from the Bush Wars Conflict Mod has released the 32 Battalion Soldiers Pack on the BWCM Web site.

We have tried to keep the soldier addons as realistic as possible and have used the “Summer†cammo pattern as well as the SWATF – SF (black) jacket which was commonly used by 32 in operations. A Radioman has been added which we are using to test some radio scripts (Artillery strikes, Airstrikes etc.) for implementation in ArmA2.

  FFAA Mod 3.4.5 patch released Screenshots    
Peloton from the FFAA Mod has informed us about the release of FFAA Mod 3.4.5 on our Forums.

Version 3.4.5 is the last one for the ARMA, it is a patch and it requires 3.4.2 version and patch 3.4.4

The patch improves some arms and units in general and adds some new units.

Also it includes a campaign in Spanish done by Ethan.

Datakill from the Studio Alpha has released GRU units WIP screenshots on the Studio Alpha web site.

GRU Spetsnaz Second WIP Report
Another bunch of new screenshots showing the GRU Spetsnaz in action. Lodu is currently working to add some gears and equipments. The release is not far and it will be packed with some awesome suprises but I can't tell you more at this time as I have to keep the secret.

  Ensk Map WIP video released Videos    


Zenger from SARMAT studio has released a YouTube Ensk Map WIP video on the arma.at.ua web site.

Studio SARMAT presents news from the island created according to the CIS countries model.
In this stage island has :
- A large city,
- 4 villages, scattered on the island,
- A swamp,
- A lake and a river,
- Chemical plants, construction sites, factory,
- An airport,
- A large harbour

  SJB Special Air Service Pack v1.0 Released Addon release    
Jackal326 has released a SJB Special Air Service Pack v1.0 by Jackal326 and SafetyCatch on our Forums.

The SJB SAS Pack v1.0 contains Special Air Service operators in both Patrol Kit and Assault Kit with the requisite camouflages for use in both temperate woodland and arid region environments. These units are high fidelity representations of modern SAS operators circa 2006-present, using equipment sourced from photographs and information proprietary to the SJB mod team. Currently the units are equipped with BIS weaponry. Later versions of the pack will make use of the upcoming SJB Weapons Packs which will include weapons such as the L119A1 (Diemaco SFW) intended for use with the SJB SAS Pack. Also included are "ACE Compatible" Units, which have had their backpacks removed using hiddenselections to allow them to utilise ACE's Backpacks system without too much clipping occurring as a result of wearing "two" backpacks.

  Ffaa Mod Screenshots    
Peloton from the Ffaa Mod informed us on our forums that they have released several new pictures of their latest work.

  RMM_Pack1 by Rommel [AAF] Addon release    
Rommel [AAF] has released RMM_Pack1, a set of 3 addons : MM_VoiceQuiet, RMM_AI_Range and RMM_BloodSpray on the BI Forums. XEH is needed to play with "Bloodspray".

AI_Range simply increases the AI effectiveness to its maximum capability, with its only decreases in the AI's super accuracy in game, to give a more instinctive and enjoyable firefight.

VoiceQuiet sets all Voices to "nullsound" which is a 1kb sound file that I found somewhere and stops all AI and player Radio noises. This also improves the AI response to orders as they no longer experience that 'delay'.

Bloodspray was a lot of fun to make, and I was just generally interested. Its not to over the top, and very CPU light with the script run, all comes down to personal taste.
Note: Bloodspray won't run on dedicated servers as no visuals are needed (but obviously works for clients), and all these ad dons are made with multi-player in mind; especially the voice quiet.
