Here is the incredible story of FileFront return as posted on the site home page.
FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.
After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to suspend FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.
We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive. ... FileFront has existed in one form or another (originally as FileLeech and Voodoo Extreme's downloads) since 1997. In the last 12 years, FileFront has become the gaming community's most comprehensive and trafficked library hosting millions of files for thousands of games while requiring no registration and providing uncapped download speeds. We look forward to improving FileFront and serving the gaming community for years to come.
Welcome home. Game On!

The Invasion 1944: D-Day project has updated their website with pictures of the LCVP "Higgins" that John and Marcel have been working on.
Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) or Higgins boat was a landing craft used extensively in World War II. The craft was designed by Andrew Higgins of Louisiana, United States based on boats made for operating in swamps and marshes. More than 20,000 were built, by Higgins Industries and licensees.
Typically constructed from plywood, this shallow-draft, barge-like boat could ferry a platoon-sized complement of 36 men to shore at 9 knots (17 km/h). Men generally entered the boat by climbing down a cargo net hung from the side of their troop transport; they exited by charging down the boat's bow ramp.

Vilas has released some impressive screenshots of some new content of the Project '85 Mod over on the BI Forums.
The screenshots show the new DDR NVA unit, the new Spetznatz chestrig and redone Polish soldiers.
new DDR NVA unit: I hope webbing is realistic enough ;] in mod there was too new 90's chestrig, so there is 1986 chestrig: (textures of soldier/base RD gear and material by ShadowNX) Polish soldier in details (as you see belt is moved/modelled) higher, more natural to human body, not so low as it was previously:

Eble announced on the BI Forums that he is making new colour schemes for his upcoming Su-47 beta release.
In the original release the Su-47 was using the Display colour scheme, thanks to eddyD we now have a few more to play with: I'm working on these new schemes now, and hope to have the next beta out shortly.
Colour schemes:
- Display - unarmed - Black - Blue - Desert - Green/Brown - Light green
At the moment all versions still carry just 6 x R73's AA missiles I'm looking into bringing back the multi weapon scripts for this release, but as Arma 2 is that far off and has multi weapons I might not go that far as it takes a lot of work.

Nicholas Bell has released a set of Razani "planning maps" by SoLoSniper on the BI Forums. SoLoSniper has created three very nice planning maps for the current version of Razani. These are created from the ingame map, and are 2268 x 2259 pixels and are of course much sharper than the tiny images below. Thanks SoLo !

The Invasion 1944 mod posted screenshots of their Kübelwagen made by [FF] Studio and Marcel on their forums.
[FF] Studio kindly donated their Kübelwagen to us. As they only came in an open variant with 2 paint jobs (Grey and Dessert) I've been putting some work into it and made a Camo variant for our Normandy map! Also added some slight detail to it, did some 'under the hood' work on LODs. Also been working on a hooded version. Hope you guys like the result.
Also shown on the screenshots is Mikebart's custom grass.
