Nicholas Bell has released an update of his very nice and original Schmalfelden Map on the BI Forums. Schmalfelden is a map based on actual terrain in Germany, this is a 5120 meters x 5120 meters map, not an island - no water around it.
Version 0.81 1. Desaturated greens on satellite map and eliminated some of the whitest farm fields. I believe these white fields are ripe oats. The tan/brown fields are wheat. 2. Toned down the brightness of the quarry and the gravel pit. 3. Decreased the number of trees by 25,000 in the 2 woods in the center of the map and large portions (but not all) of the forests in the northwest corner. I have experienced improved frame rate. I plan to continue to thin out the forests. 4. Modifications to road network. 5. Cleaned up some road intersections. I am aware of others than need work. 6. Added road reflector posts on some of the roads. Unfortunately they are backwards from the actual German posts. Not much I can do about this. 7. Corrected building heights which where above or below grade (ie "floating" or "sunk") Plus other miscellaneous corrections and improvements.

Yoma has again updated his Arma Addon Synchroniser and released it on the BI Forums.
**NEW Important Version**
-Server admins can add a line :hlp:http://www.mydomain.com/myhelpfile.html to modfolders.txt
This URL wil auto-open when selecting the server. This way server admins can link to their webpage, have a page open with extra info on the mods (required not required), or page with clan rules etc etc
-Added an extra setting so you can enable "Auto Download All" This setting will have the app automatically "Download All" on selecting a server
Again: UPDATE YOUR CURRENT VERSION, if server admins start using these features older version will crash on them

Today Mark XIII has updated his HiFi Sound FX Mod and informed us on our Forums! The mod changes most if not all of the default ArmA sounds.
V1.3.1 Fix/Update
-Optimised afew more files -Reworked A10/AV8/KA50/AH1Z/UH60/AH6 Engine sounds again (sorry about 1.3, guess I was rushing) -Remade A10/AV8 Burst Fire sounds, sounds now match amount off ammo used if burst fire is used..ie; A10=40 round half second burst, Av8=5 round burst. -Remade All high ROF samples and minugun samples (I'm now alot happier with them myself, check em out) -Reworked humvee, vulcan, m113, stryker and shilka engine sounds ( upped the pitch and the rpm's alittle hopefully better for you guys this time!) -Made volume adjustments to all smallarms reload sounds (bout 3db!) Theres bound to be afew things I've put in and missed out, just tried to follow what people had said so far across the forums....

paragraphic l released the first public version of Solus's SLX Mod in the BIS Forums. This mod will give you a totaly new ArmA experience, as it changes almost everything in the game. For more information check out the readme in the archive.
Here it is; SLX Mod for ArmA the public release. This mod is made to enhance the gameplay, make the AI smarter, effects better and add's some new gameplay features as well. Solus has been working on this mod for over a year and before that he allready made some awesome stuff for OFP which is all used and enhanced for the release.
This mod is not made to enhance performance, but everything is as optimised as much as was possible.
This also is made for both SP as MP but is mostly tested in an SP or LAN environment and as was shown with the SLX_Vehicles release, there might be some errors in that area.
Though it's called the public release, you might stumble upon some errors.
To write down everything that's added or changed is not possible, it's just to much!

 SoldierIsNotHistory from the French OFrP Team has released a Hotfix for OFrP #1 release on the BI Forums.
A Fix is available to correct some troubles.
- Mission which does not use OFrP on dedicated server are running now - English translation of Object Pack is ok - Fix on M2 tripod - Fix on Eryx launcher - Some corrections

NOTE: - The texture pass not found was corrected. - The value of ammunition was corrected. In a word, the power of the bullet has weakened. - The value of the armor was corrected. It made it from the version before to the weakness. - It was made to do for the TAG system the class name. - The suspension was made effective. - The position of the exhaust was changed.

Sander from the Lowlands Warrior project has released a L16A2 mortar for ArmA on the BI Forums.
The addon is a straightforward port from the original OFP addon. The L16A2 mortar can be found on side Independent, vehicle class LLW - Static. A simple demonstration mission that can be played in both MP and SP is included in the archive.

Cole.cz has released a fixed version of Ghillie snipers replacements for the standalone snipers addon by Mr Burns on the BI Forums and afterward, they have also released a Ghillie SF Marksman replacement addon.
Me and Ryan_D (Aliens 4.0 addon author managed to fix the replacement (no more crazy models now!) The archive contains 2 pbo's - one replaces only US Snipers, the second one replaces US and SLA snipers Files are now also binarized and signed. Bikey included. .... Well if you ask me, it just feels right to have the Ghillie guy in Special Forces.

Colonel Well, a french addonmaker, has released a P90 in the BIS Forums.
p90 addon original creator BXBX for OFP , with BXBX permission I convert it for Arma and edit textures. in the editor , take a soldier and in the inisialised shield put this line: removeallweapons this; this addmagazine "colonelwellp90mag"; this addmagazine "colonelwellp90mag"; this addweapon "colonelwellp90"

Maddmatt has updated his ArmA Effects and released it on the BI Forums. You must delete the old version before installing this, it has a different file name and may conflict with the new version if it's not removed.

Schmalfelden is a map based on actual terrain in Germany, created using a military 1:50,000 scale topographic map (for elevation datum) and a Google Earth image of the area. I selected this area for recreating realistic engagements in a European environment which might typically described as "good tank country", terrain which Soviet Forces would have sought to exploit with their tank and mechanized infantry forces had the Cold War ever gone "hot"

What's new since 3.0: -All UFOs now have working turrets. -The Mothership has been greatly modified to improve performance and ingame experience. -Plama grenades for Alien Infantry. -Missing Addon Bug in some MP missions fixed. -Two additional alien related MP missions, which both don't use this addon (as they were actually created way before this addon was made). -"Demon" Alien Infantry, who attack at close quarters. -Laser weaponary have decreased recoil. -New Shielded and Stealth Aliens. -Additional Game Logics, for greater customisation in Missions. -Many other fixes including the "out of ammo" bug, "black texture" bug and much more.

Q from A.C.E Team has announced the release of A.C.E CWC Island Pack beta 2 on the BI Forums.
Beta 2 changes
* Changed: Textures can now be set individually for each island. * Added: OFP World - all four OFP islands on one large island. Texture settings are different for each island based on the texture setting for each island. * Assigned better default texture for each island (different for each). * Fixed: Airports now have visible airfield. * Fixed: Most config class missing ArmA.rpt Warning. The well known Sigma-6 has send us his Sigma-6 Vehiclepack. The addons are still unfinished and Sigma-6 would like to see his work finished by the community. So if you are interested in completing one of these vehicles please write him an e-mail (you can find his e-mail address in the included readme file).
The land vehicles will be found under 'civilian/Sigma Wheeled'.
Known Bugs: Lights are not fully functional. Gauges do not work. Driver and Passenger animations are much less than ideal. The ship has even more bugs.
All of these issues are slated for future versions, but if anyone skilled in these areas wants to go ahead and update for these issues, do not hesitate to contact me.

Alex Sworn informed us that he has updated his Syr Darain island to version 3.0 (beta). The complete and overworked 3.0 will be released in a few days.
Updates in version 3.0 :
- New textures for the city New Porto - Completly new town in the north of the island - Many smaller changes in various villages - The AI can now use the airport (land&start) - 90% of the animations work
Furthermore Alex, released the SAR and VisitorX Data, and everbody who wants to work on this island is welcome.
