lol my arma II runs only in Window mode on 800x600
i cant play on fullscreen and i have a 22" Wide TFT !!! shit i try all startparameter but i dont work ! i have a X1950XTX inside!!

There is no patch - jet. When the patch comes out it will be a beta. Reading skills are important.
The BIS patched ArmA intensivly. But I have just no fun at waiting for the patch with bought and installed game. Some peope are just happy when a patch comes out, i don't. 20 patches, and about 15 betas are annoying 4me.
OFP:DR will be more polished because they want to bring out a console version in the release period. And for console there is no patching possible.

I think the germans can afford buying ArmA for 50€ - and there are a lot of people who are buying no matter what-
And this is a kind of trick by BIS;
There will be less angry people when only the Germans get the 1.0 version and other people gonna buy it when the krauts are playing.
(Reminds me of Eric Cartman in his personal DisneyLand letting no one in and having fun.)

OK guys...what the hell are you all talking about.
Old Bear is totaly right. BIS is doing nothings else as supporting that part of the Com which has to follow the will of the Publisher. So releasing the Patch to make sure that every "German" user has the possibility to download and install it.
So think about it and stop misscrediting BIS...they are doing a great Job, even on supporting...

@All : there is a patch because released game was even if the game was finished
- it still need more debugging and polishing
- the publishers having in mind a fight with other games want it released now, and the publisher is having always a big argument for the release, its about the money.
- the games is already released in Germany now, so this beta patch is a patch for the German version.
- the patch is released as soon as the game is released because BI has go on working after the game gone Gold.
- the patch is released because as BI knows the game need tweaking and debugging, BI knows also that there is a huge expectancy in the community.BI don't want the community to be disappointed about the game.
- more patches are coming as Maruk announces :
* in the same time we are also finalizing an updated version of the game that should be the version to be released later next month in other territories (including North America, the official announcements coming soon)
Nothing in the changelog is about the game not being playable or ugly, everything in the changelog shows enhancement, not deep changes, so we are NOT in ArmA situation.
[Personal thinking mod on] I wonder why it's always the German gamers the first players ... .As a"West Europe" ArmA fan, I have to wait until 505Games release, I know that we will have a nice job done by our friend of the German community ... and so I am waiting also for the first patch after the "West Europe" release.
As an ArmA fan, I have choose not to be a mere consumer, but an active member of the community
I am happy to know that the creators of my favourite game is waiting for my support. I know he don't want to deceive me, I don't want to deceive him. [Personal thinking mod off].

What are you guys keep talking about? This patch is for the German version. The English version will be released with the latest patches. You should be happy that you will get a less bugged game. I really don't understand why these patches bother so many people.
Also why do you think the OFP:DR will be bug free? Because it's released later? I'd rather think that they keep pushing back the release date because they are behind schedule and not because they want to release a bug free game.

Well, it seems that nobody here really has an idea how production machine works.
After Release version goes on Gold it takes some time to print all the copies. It may take a month or so. In that period you can change nothing in release version, but designers are still testing it and finding errors and bugs. So it's normal nowadays that the first patch and the game are released at the same time, because of limited production budget and modern games complexity.

Well i dont give a dam what anyone thinks, im gonna get it and enjoy it just as i did with armed assault 1, i dont care about the patches at least they are fixing the problem's.

Looool. I feel that I am the only one that have could buy the game twice the price even if it was still an alpha...
I know I am stupid, but fox, do u play a lot of other game that provide 20% of the pleasure of ofp or arma? If yes, please let me know, cause I thought I tried them all...

It was impossible for a 30 man team and X testers to track this bugs down before the release.

But I belive they will patch a lot of things in the next months. They have to, there will be at least an addon and no other projects for BIS in the next time.
So fellas - enjoy the summer while we wait for patches (it IS a good weather 2be outside) and prepare for the hot ArmA II autumn.
I for myself will buy this game only when the community says its ready, not then the publisher puts it on the market. Hopefully it is more worth then 20 bucks then.

You think they are making money on us? maybe...maybe. But have you thought that OFP:DR has it's name only for you to buy it. OFP:DR is only another COD4 with some features.
