Doesn't look or sound much like any Gauss Gun I've ever seen... needs switches, LEDs and whatnot. Should make more of a "thlunk" sound as well...

Check out the GP-219, a rifle version would look similar, but with a stock and a longer barrel (more coils = higher muzzle velocity)

Of course, for a proper sniper gun, you'd want a rail gun :P

Crytec, as the creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (which I don't remember the name now) have a policy that they allow people to use the contents of their game only, and only, if it is freeware.

They say that it can help new people to start modelling and texturing, etc. Some guys in the BI Forums know a lot about this, you should ask there.

As long as he doesn't release it in his current state it should be fine.

As for the permission, LinkerSplit was gained the permission to use Crysis content (textures) in ArmA1, so maybe if they are asked nicely, it will work out, too.

"majorjim:
Model isnt ripped, model is created by me, i'm using only texture from Crysis and recorded sound of shooting .)"

That doesn't make it legal.
You're still ripping textures and sounds.
Textures and sounds are also under copyright protection.
