While Searching Google today for the old ANN news from arma1 I come across this rather neat informal website that seems to be covering the situations from A2's story in real-time I don’t know who created it. All the info on there is it was created by AAN Network and parent company.
Wiper has released an updated 1.37b version of his Cipher [SP & MP/Coop] mission on the BI Forums. Cipher is playable in SP mode as well as in MP coop mode.
'Cipher' is a Arma2 mission fully based on scripts. The mission development was centered around three central themes: 1. Literally unlimited replayability providing unexpected encounters each time the mission is restarted. 2. Let the player experience how awesome the AI and micro AI actually is that BIS has created for us and what I think is the most sophisticated AI for home computer games to date ! 3. Give the player the possibility to explore and enjoy the gorgeous beauty of the Chernaurus map while immersed in a living environemt. 4. Embedding all of the above into a plausible "story line" keeping a most enjoyable balance.
As a result, on one hand the mission concept is based on a relatively advanced AI “engine†as a core system that I originally started to develop in the beginning of the good (golden) old OFP times and provides a full dynamic driven persistent AI.

Hello, I am in the process of making a ARMA 2 mission called Operation Thunder Wave. Basically you and your wingman are Escorts for a B52 Bomber squad with a mission to destroy the enemies airfield, below is a video and some screenshots of the semi complete mission, I plan on adding more MIGS as well as more ground targets & more Anti Aircraft vehicles to make it a bit harder. I also plan on adding a bit of radio chatter clips that I've collected over the years. I plan on releasing the actual mission in a few weeks time.

Sick1 has released an updated -1.1- version of his Seal Team Six Campaign on the BI Forums.
"In 1962, President Kennedy, believing that the wars of the future would be low intensity conflicts such as guerrilla wars and acts of terrorism, created an elite special forces unit to meet the enemy on his own turf. Experts in sea-air-land operations, they are known as Navy SEALs."
This Campaign spans ten long missions featuring custom audio mission briefings and weapon selection. You are the leader of Seal team Six tasked with routing out an evil drug fueled insurgency. This campaign is for all you players that wanted more Socom style missions that were lacking in the Vanilla campaign.
Key Features
1. Custom Audio including voice overs and music from some of the greatest action movies made. 2. This campaign is optimized for performance. So if you have a low end rig, this will blow your mind. Ive used scripting techniques that boost performance yet you will still face an overwhelming number of enemies and you will like it. 3. Weapon selection before each mission along with supply locations during. Ive also included the awesome RH Pistol pack by RobertHammer for the classic seal P266. 4. Mission types such as search and destroy, hostage rescue, capturing terrorists at there homes, taking down helicopters and tanks, and a special naval clandestine mission. There's a special homage to all the awesome 80's action movies in the last mission. 5. A bad ass new location with awesome performance thanks to IceBreakr. The beautiful Island of Panthera. 6. Extremely dynamic campaign. Enemy location will very from play to play. I did this so I could play it and not know where to expect the enemy.
This is the first campaign in a series I plan to release to the community. I've started work on the second campaign and it will be available soon. If you guy enjoyed this campaign let me know and I will bring you bigger and better action.

Lite version released : Some people were having conflicts when using FFAA with other mods they had already installed. Ive included a lite version without FFAA and Little birds addon.
Kherro informed us that The Unsung Mod released several new WIP shots on their forums showing the weapons they are working on for ArmA 2. The pics show:

This update addresses the multiplayer dedicated server issue. All tanks can now run on a dedi without asking for missing texture files(providing you've loaded the rvmats into the tracked.pbo) All you do is de-pbo the tracked.pbo and add the included rvmats to the data\detailmappy directory.
If you DON'T do this, what will happen is the game will nag you about it on startup and the textures will be flat/matt without the ArmaII "shinyness" (no biggy really but I personally like the shiny textures better).
Fer has informed us about the release of an updated -v2-1-0- version of F2. F2 is a framework: an MP mission folder containing a library of scripts, functions and template files, plus a manual . The framework is designed to provide the mission designer, after minimal additional configuration, with a selection of pre-tested features and functionality intended to improve the overall quality and re-playability of his/her mission.
The F2 team is pleased to announce the release of F2 v2-1-0.
This is a significant release of F2 because for the first time the framework now contains a pre-integrated version of Norrin's outstanding Revive Respawn scripts.
Tom Anger from the Urban Resistance Clan has released a Team vs Team Multi-Gametype Mission Pack on the BI Forums. There are 5 game-type packs : Seige, King of the Hill, CTF, Death Match and Team Death Match. Each game-type pack is including 4 missions : Depot Station, Ghost Town,Town Beach, Urban Resistance.
This mission pack is an effort to put out a series of mission designs in various gametypes for the community. Each gametype is explained below. Each mission is consistent to bring similar gameplay in different environments.

Showing a couple of features from the upcoming ACE 2 Mod for Arma 2. A few things are localized in Hungarian, so I added speech bubbles. CQB Mode: Certain optics have a CQB sight on top to give the soldier the ability to quickly target enemies at close range. ACE has this modeled in per Real Life specs. Weapon resting: This system allows you to 'rest' your primary weapon against horizontal or vertical edges of objects of suitable height (like vehicles, fences, buildings, trees) when you are kneeling or standing. Weapon bipods: This system is similar to the Weapon Resting but it's available only from prone position, and only for weapons that have modeled bipods. This will increase even further the stability of the weapon (reduced recoil and weapon sway) but will also limit the horizontal and vertical speed more than weapon resting. Wind deflection: You can measure the wind in two ways, both activate by the same key binding. *Unmetered: This will display an arrow - indicating direction. The color of the arrow will indicate approximately what the airspeed currently is. Yellow: below 3 kph. Orange: 3+ Red: 6+ Violet: 9+ *Metered: There is the Kestrel 4500 wind meter. Once calibrated it can provide precise head and crosswind data. The meter display is dragable and can be closed by use of the off button on the meter or by hitting the escape key.
Sumrak has released the long awaited Namalsk island on the BI Forums.
What is Namalsk? Namalsk is fictional island, located in Bering Strait. It is island with hard conditions for life, island is covered by needle-leaved trees, with high mountains covered by perma snow blanket. On Namalsk are located lot of different objects, for example there is high transmitter Seraja in mountains, underground in object AII, big town Vorkuta and two harbors Tara and Lubjansk.
What is Nightstalkers: Shadow of Namalsk? Namalsk is only the part of this modification, full modification, with campaign on Namalsk island and more features (more info here or here) will be released probably in January 2010. Namalsk is using models of buildings from this mod and probably these models will be in this period more tune-up (added for more objects paths for AI, etc.). I tried to minimize size of this release, so, don't await full versions of all pbo's, there are only things, which are needed for playing on Namalsk.
