bravo 6 informed the community that he is working on a TrueFeeling Mod which changes the way you see the ArmA 2 world around and feel it.
Hi guys,
I'm working on a TrueFeeling mod which changes the way you see the world around and feel it.
For those who know TrueView, it might reminds you of it but the TrueFeeling I'm working on have different values on the FOV (Field Of View) and it also changes several combat feeling aspects such as accuracy, dispersion, which in my opinion will improve the immersion of the game and it will bring more natural and fun feeling into the Simulation.
TrueFeeling also includes several zoom weapon changes in order to look and feel more natural without the extreme ZoomIn BIS gave to the weapons. The Binoculars have the option to ZoomIn like on several real binoculars.
The M1Abrams cannon, commander etc view are in my point of view better improved, more playable and enjoyable, this means you will be able to see more, near you and far from you.
The basic weapons do not have crosshair, though you can identify the friendly units as you can see in the above pictures and of course there will remain some small useful icons for some actions.
If someone is interested in this modification please show your interest in this thread, suggest what could be changed and added to this TrueFeeling and i might open a discussion thread to better talk about this and with the objective to release it for the community.
ATTENTION: The intention of this modification is not at all to cheat, as some might think in the first place. As i said before TrueFeeling is being created/modified to bring and give a more natural feeling onto the game.
PS - TrueFeeling is in current and constant changes, suggestions are welcome in order to improve in a realistic way.
Rhodesy from the Project Aus posted two new pictures of his ARA (Australian Regular Army) Auscam Troops on the BI Forums. Original textures and models made by STALKERGB and couger.
Credits for original textures and models go to STALKERGB and couger (body and webbing, both of them) and Binkowski (helmet and some pouches/camel pack)
IceBreakr informed us all that he has started a new ambitious project, making a Real World Map.
Isla Terra I've started a new island project as MaxRiga pointed out that we're missing a real world map, of course: made in a miniature version suitable for infantry combat with support of choppers and aircraft
Map will feature a realistic height data of world, and I'll try to create Africa/South Asia as a desert, South America is a jungle and other places similiar/close to a real world vegetation.
Map will be made for A2 only and will feature towns and villages in positions where real biggest cities are located.
So far its plan to use default vanilla BIS objects/vegetation only so we can have some nice "superpowers" scenarios up & running soon.
Island will be a sandbox for all mission makers. Some will do World Domination with two sides battling for more resources and third side will be an independent (rebel resistance) that will be AI played and control the world in the start. Another guy can make a smaller scale mission where one island(continent) attacks other, third creator will make a mission pack that only plays in Africa or S. American jungles.
This will probably evolve to an open community project so we can improve the "world" together. I'll keep you posted and hopefully have to show first alpha shots so we can agree on the size

The FDF Mod has released an ArmA 2 SISU XA-180 WIP screenshot on their web site.
The workhorse of the Finnish army, XA-180 armored personnel carrier, is seen here on a forest road during trials. XA-180 entered service in 1983 and is operated not only by Finland but also by other nations in numerous peacekeeping operations.
The vehicle is fully amphibious and can carry two infantry squads. Several variants have been developed along the years, culminating in the Advanced Modular Vehicle (AMV) design.
