Chops has released an arty addon on the BI Forums. This addon comes with 3 SP Missions.
This is an artillery addon that allows M119 artillery strikes of four different warheads, through the action menu and mapclicks, out to a range of 7600m.

The 28th of September as a release date for ArmA: Queen's Gambit is confirmed on the Bohemia Interactive web site. As well as a new cover picture for the IDEA games edition.
ArmA: Queen's Gambit , the official expansion pack for critically acclaimed ArmA: Armed Assault , is knocking on your door. The addon will hit the shelves on 28th of September. Digital distribution will start on 8th of October via Sprocket system, available for either Europen or overseas customers.
You will find ArmA: Queen's Gambit tomorrow, perhaps under one of these covers at a price ranging from 14,99 € in Germany to £ 11.98 (around 14,14€ today) in the UK and from 19,99 € to 24,98 € in France (price tags from Amazon and FNAC).

o3oDeath has released a Manual artillery addon on the BI Forums. This addon features reworked arty guns, scripts for a forward observer and a target range mission. I got sick of all the click on map artillery scripts and wanted something a bit more realistic so I gutted the vanilla arma M119 and D31 and and reconfigured them with new ammo and magazine classes and named them LRM119 and LRD31. There are 8 powder charges. powder charge 1 muzzle velocity: 200 powder charge 2 muzzle velocity: 400 powder charge 3 muzzle velocity: 600 so forth and so on. PC8 is 1600 The timetolive is set for 500 seconds so the round vanishing will not be a problem.
I also included a mission with it. It is just a target range but i wanted to pass on the spotter script I wrote as it would be almost impossible to have a spotter direct fire from 5 km away with out some kind of tool. The foward observer has an action that shows you the distance and direction to the fire base.

skickahit10 has released an Artillery script on the BI Forums.
This is no bullshit where shells will appear out of nowhere, this is the actual guns (M119s) in ArmA aiming and firing their weapons. All you have to do is click on the map and you'll have artillery shells raining down there within a minute or so!

Plasman has released an UN Vehicles addon on the BI Forums.
Includes UN M113 with side armor plates (slighly improved the vehicle's armor to 180 instead of the default 150), UN M113 ambulances. Both vehicles have customised interiors. Added the UN Land Rovers fm my previous UN addon. This is a self standing addon: vehicles come with their own crewmen. UN Soldiers addon not required.

icemotoboy has posted some WIP screenshots of his Oil Rig addon on the BI Forums.
I've been working on a Oil Rig model for my clan (USEC) to use in missions, and I thought I would post some screenshots. I will be running a closed alpha in the weekend, with the intention of releasing a beta sometime in October.
You can land a helicopter on the rig. I have five ladders working so far on the rig. There is currently no animation, or lighting, nor moving parts. I doubt I will have these working for Beta in october but I will have them in the final. My intention is to combine it with a number of scripts I have developed and release a deathmatch and rescue co-op mission.
One key thing I have noted is that more than 20k polygons and you must split the objects out. Currently, the rig is three models and totals about 40k polygons.
Some problems I am having:
* How do I create windows? * How do I create destructable parts of objects? * Getting Geo objects to "behave" with the camera and player (such as walls)
If anyone has any ideas on these two, please post below or PM me to help.
Also, if anyone has any bright ideas or suggestions about what I could add, please feel free to let me know.

While James Gastovski was updating his blog, the Cold War Rearmed team has posted some interesting and heartening news about this project on the Bohemia Interactive web site.
The Cold War Rearmed (CWR) modification is a collaborative project with Bohemia Interactive (BI) and community fans to bring the ever popular Cold War Crisis campaign and content into ArmA. The idea is to rework the original content to take advantage of the enhancements BI has made to the ArmA engine. As a second phase, the CWR team also plans to convert the Resistance campaign and content.

James Gastovski has again posted some news on his blog, in fact he had posted pictures from the past.
... I was suddenly overwhelmed with emotions, viewing the combat pictures of the young men still fighting on Malden really brought on a huge rush of memories and flashbacks. I immediately thought about my old comrades, thinking they might enjoy these pictures too, I thought I would post some of these pictures on my blog, just maybe these pictures will also stir those same crazy emotions and flashbacks I had from the Cold War in 1985.

Q has informed everyone on the BI Forums of a blog update on the BI Website.
Ivan Buchta, a member of the Bohemia Interactive team, has posted a blog talking about the aims of Armed Assault 2 regarding terrain.
In our company, there was always an ambition to create landscape which would feel real. As we constantly improved our tools and refined our technology, it is finally possible to take the image of real-life countryside and bring the best of it into ARMA 2. We have chosen a piece of forgotten land somewhere in North Bohemia in the hopes of bring you a wild and hilly environment suitable for large-scale combat operations.

Yossarian posted some information and a render of a M14 EBR Rifle not that long ago on the BI Forums.
A more recent screenshot of the weapon in the Armed Assault Armory has been provided of the weapon.
First, big thank-you to RobertHammer who put the gun in-game. It's my first model for ArmA. I'm still learning. Right now it's just a texture and a model, no fancy normal/spec maps. Silencer, sniper scope, and Short-Dot scope are planned. Poly count right now is 4181 (so don't give a squad of 20 guys the EBR or you can kiss your framerates goodby) Sorry, that's how it is. And unless I find someone to do my schoolwork for me, there aren't going to be any LODs.

PutiNix77 has posted some work in progress of his first O2 models on the BI Forums.
The models are of a bunker and a small wall which can make some defense missions quite interesting and different.
A video is also available showing two M2 Machine Guns inside the bunker.

We have released the first screenshots from the Puch (Beta Version). The textures and the model are not final but we proud to present the first Switzerland Mod vehicle.

Inkompetent informed us, that he has released an addon that turns the M136 into a single shot weapon, just as it is in real life in the BI Forums.
The weapon is automatically dropped after firing and rendered unusable, making AT-business even more tricky than before. !Warning!: This modification alters original values in cfgVehicles!
