What i haven't seen and i fear that i never gonna see on a BIS game (ArmA, ArmA2) it's to be able of shot from the cargo possitions on trucks, HMMWV's, open the top AAV7 hatches and shoot from there, walk in vehicles and things like that; which is really bad, i could do that in many arcade games like the BF2 and things like "that", but i can't in the "ultimate war sim". That's what i always hated, that nothing here works as it should, even this "small details".

I think people cant see everything they have put in graphicaly because they were expecting a completely differen't engine like ofp2 is doing. Well, they are using real virtuality 3, unlike real virtuality 2 like in ArmA1. Real virtuality 3 will offer parallax occlusion mapping, multicore support and imporved bump mapping. They reworked all the grass, and tree's. So maybe all the people here need to start up ArmA1 again and compare it to the video's they are watching to realize ArmA2 looks way better graphicaly. Physicaly, not yet, and thats what people are getting confused with. I've heard of the physics being worked on, but I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully they will because it will suck everyone in. I have no evidence of what OFP2 is going to put on the table because they have no balls when it comes to sharing real game information. Basicaly, they talk the talk, but can they walk the walk. Sounds cheesy, but thats truly how it is right now.

While it is difficult to get an ideal guage on what Arma 2 will realy be, I think we can see pretty well the rendered finish they are going for and it's not a great improvement really. More what Resistance pack was to OFP than worthy of a new game.
BIS are meant to be getting close now if they are demonstrating and scheduling early 2009 for release, so big changes are unlikely on what we are seeing.
Ai look sluggish and clumpsy still. Movement of everything seems sluggish. If they do one thing it has to be to match the fluidity of movement like BF2. When I run into buildings I don't want to get caught on a wall apex and judder around till I can see something properly or move on. It's gotta be fluid.
Be good to see something happen in the video samples too. I really think BIS need to inject some enthusiasm into their presentations and have better prepared mission examples. If I was a distributor or even journalist meeting these guys I would look to be meeting people excitied about their product. All I hear is codies with monotone voices rambling boring data info we all know exists in Arma.
Put some life into this boys or we know who will win on the shop shelves come next year, when you miss your launch date and Codemasters release Flashpoint 2 before you. Then you will be buggered.
Start wowing us soon or its curtains lads bar the hardcore fans.
Just my 2cents for now

No one said it's fantastic. :) Arma 2 is not released yet, so we can expect a little more!

Will someone please tell me what was so new and fantastic in that video? All I saw was GUI and slight model differences (I've seen better in the FFUR series for OFP1). Maybe BIS should just release ArmA2 as an expansion because that is all it is right now.
