I just wonder why people are so surprised by these events. Impatient, judgemental, and angrily finding every reason to doubt and scorn the better, new game. I'm just into Arma II by 2hours, (gave in to my addiction and DL'ed it from Morphicon, curse them for the early release, lol) have the beta patch, and am really impressed. I'm pretty good about tactics, slicing the pie, holding to observe, and watching my back... Now I don't have to watch my own.. the AI does it for me. I've never had to back up when 'slicing', now I find myself doing it quite often. I love the coverage the AI does, they sprawl out over an area, covering sectors when not moving.. (sorry I said I'm really impressed.. more like taken away with). Bring on the patches, I have bandwidth for all of 'em.
(poor poor cat. Good one, lol)

Donkey Punch I'm so terribly sorry we ran over your cat, what was its name? :)

bulkington80, in his defense, did you ever try the original release of Arma1? I did and it was hilariously buggy. Helicopters would fly around the sky in their burnt-out state (what they look like after the explosion and fire has gone out). You had to shoot them to get the helicopter to appear like it wasn't blown up so you could get in it. They also floated around the skies like a hovering UFO.
Arma2 I am sure looks amazing in comparison just because of the fact you couldn't get worse than Arma1's release.
Message to BIS: glad to see you have abandoned Arma 1 and still haven't released the final patch. I take it we have to wait another year?

I did not say that it is great, good ,fantastic or bad - I just mentioned it is much more playable then ArmA1 at it's release.Want to teach me English?Come and visit me... ^^

How can something be "much more less???" :) And less buggy after all those bug reports? You are not being completely honest with us, are you? ;)

I bought the German version yesterday and the worst thing with this is that the dogs ingame can't swim - they die in the water ^^
It is much more less buggy then ArmA1 at the release and for sure ArmA II is playable. Sure some things have to be improved & fixed and I am going to get the (final) 1.01 patch next week when it is released.

Oh, it is fine to release patches. The problem is the game won't work if you put the disk in from the store. You need the first patch to get it to work.

does this mean that the game was defective when it was sold? if BIS have a patch prepared already that means that they and the publisher knew the game was defective and they sell it anyways, doesn't it?
I thinks so. They produced the boxes and dvd a little before it hit the shelfs, so they already got some things fixed. I also think, these bugs were already known, but they couldn't fix it in time. But to make us happy (and buying), the program was realeased very early. They need to pay salaries. Isn't that okay? So what I hope is, they have enough reserves to keep going. It's a great product though I still miss things, already having missed in Arma Gold. But it has certainly made a good evolution.

A game that never needed any patches?! LOL ..... not seen 1 in MANY years.
Be grateful its being supported, it could be like great games like Silent Hunter 4 where patches suddenly dried up :(

A game that needs no patches...
Does anyone have a direct connection with God aside from schizophrenia?
The thought alone of highly complicated software that doesn't need patches makes me ROFL.
