  The Unsung 2.6 wip report #2 Screenshots    

Sgt Savage from the The Unsung Mod has published WIP screenshots of the upcoming The Unsung 2.6 on the BI Forums.

Well , you seen bits n pieces what we been working on. And while it may seem a little quiet on our end with WIP updates trust me when I say the machine is running full steam.

I'm not gonna go into much detail but here are some pics of some of new equipment that will comming be in 2.6

  Shirin Tagab, Fayrab Provinz - WIP Screenshots Screenshots    


Donny has released some new WIP-screenshots of his terrain "Shirin Tagab, Fayrab Provinz" on the BIS Forums.

Shirin Tagab is located in the Fayrab Province of Afghanistan.
It is a small green valley between the sand dunes of the western desert.

I have cutted the Valley to get an 5x5km terrain, more would give a horrible performance because of the wide flat fields with settlements.
But i think this 5x5km gives you a good location for Infantry and small patrol vehicles scenarios.

The main feature of this map is that it has one straight main road, what is part of the "Ring Road" in Afghanistan.
From this road you can get from south to north through a middle scale city with markets and backyards between huge houses.
Also there are enough side roads to get into the village and field territories.

There are large areas with different fields and a lot of settlements.
Where every compound is made individual and also the villages are built up very complex.

- 5x5km Terrain
- huge number of settlements
- 1 City
- 2-3 Villages
- complex compound build
- lots of field areas
- 1 military FOB

  Risen Dead WIP Screenshots    
JW Custom has released some new information about his ArmA2 WIP zombie mod "Risen Dead" on the BIS Forums.

I have been working on a zombie survivor mission/game mode for a while which was based on Charons awesome undead mod but
now i have decided to skin my own zombies to avoid dependence on other mods and have better control over the zombies.

I have spawn/loot scripts ready so as soon as i finish getting the zombies done and get some zombie sounds recorded i will release a alpha version.


Here're some features that most likely will be added as the project progresses:

-Food system
-Water system
-Weight system (you can carry two rifles, but how far can you run carrying that weight...?)
-Battery system (for flashlights, maybe other stuff too)
-Custom loot position (besides BIS building positions which i use now)
-Different types of zombie behaviours

  The Limnos Incident – a community movie Screenshots    
Pete Knuutinen, one of the members of the HelpivanMartin.org team, created an ArmA Machinima which tells the story of the two developers detained in Greece.

On 9th September, 2012, two Czech citizens, Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar were arrested on Limnos island, Greece. Both of them are charged with espionage.
Reason for this accusation was few photographs, which are said to contain military objects, similar to those one can easily find over the internet, supposedly with much better resolution.
Film is created by P.J. Knuutinen for informational purposes and to be used in helpivanmartin.org team efforts to spread the word and help our friends, who have now been detained for three months.
Intention of this film is hereby solely informational, with dramatized means of motion picture. It is not meant to hurt or offend anything or anyone.

  Unsung Vietnam War Mod WIP Update # 5 Screenshots    

Sgt Savage from the The Unsung Vietnam War Mod has informed us about the mod WIP Update # 5 on the BI Forums.

The battle continues....... time again for another WIP report . Yac has been busy recreating the PBR Mark II patrol boat complete with crew.

Anyone else thinking Apocalypse now?



Also he has been working on a M551 Sheridan adding it to our armour corps

  Arma 2 Taser Mod WIP Screenshots    
Double Doppler has announced that he's working on a Taser Mod for ArmAII on the BIS Forums.

I'm here to announce that I am working on the Taser Pack for Arma 2. I noticed there are few (if none at all) Taser mods for Arma 2 (some "life communities" created some but they are restricted to their mod pack...), so I thought I would take up the challenge to create one, to gain a bit of experience with the skills involved in addon creation. Here is one that can be used by everybody!

Included in this mod will be working Taser scripts, special effects and high quality models. It will be released to the public when it is finished, and would be great for police/role play communities who use Tasers quite often, and also insurgency players who want to subdue insurgents for restraining etc. Say goodbye to those makarov "stun pistols"

  CDF Su-24MK Replacement Config Addon By sv5000 Screenshots    


sv5000 has released a replacement config for the CDF Su-24MK addon on the BIS Forums.

This replacement config came about because i was using both TK extension and PCDF (Both super mods and I highly recommend them). The original gltSU-24 came out with this awesome beast for the russian and taki factions. The woodland camo was a little annoying for the taki's, but it was a great addon that gave the TK's a great strike bird. With the coming about of the TK extension by wld427 this gave the takis the su24 in a desert scheme.

So i dug into the old thread about the SU-24 with the intention of asking about skins for it and saw the original pics for this bird in CDF colours. a little digging in the pbo and some coding of a new config and here you go, the SU-24MK for the CDF.

  Israel Map Project - WIP Screenshots    


DanWelch has started a new thread in the BIS Forums in which he has presented his new ArmA II project Israel Map Project

Hello everyone, today I present the beginning of my WIP ArmA2 Israel Map project. I will be starting with the southern region with the Israel/Egypt/Gaza Borders and Western Negev. I will complete another 3 maps as well "Westbank/Jordan", "Lebanon/Golan/Syria", "Israel/Negev/Saudi Arabia".

I hope you enjoy and can wait patiently.

  Ships, Naval Mines, and Naval Objects by hcpookie Screenshots    
hcpookie has released an updated PBR-Boat-Pack v2.0 on the BI Forums.

This addon adds numerous naval objects and ships. New harbor/sea ships with faction-based Textures.

NOTE: v2.0 combines both the pook_pbr and pook_water addons! This is required due to dependency issues.

  Schwemlitz, a German terrain - WIP Screenshots    


Falcon_565 has released some new WIP-Screenshots of the map Schwemlitz for ArmAII on the BIS Forums

Release is almost here! But before this is available for everyone I thought I'd tease everyone with a few last WIP screens. Bahnhof West sits in the northwest corner of the map composed on the train station and a small industrial complex this was the last hamlet that needed to be placed.

  MBG Generic African Buildings by Mondkalb updated ! Screenshots    
Mondkalb has released an updated MBG Generic African Buildings v1.1 addon on the BI Forums. Arma2 or Arma2:OA needed.

Originally part of a much much larger project, I decided to release these right now so more people can use these in the meantime.

It features a small collection of structures that are inspired by African/Middle-Eastern architecture. These buildings can probably supplement the existing selection offered by OA.

Content:
4 large apartment buildings, of which the biggest is fully walkable.
3 old buildings intended for small villages or ruins. One is painted in zebra camo as a safari/ranger station.
3 types of tiny slum huts that come in 8 different visual appearances.
Highly accurate icons of the buildings for stress-free usage in the mission editor.
Arma2:OA is not required
For usage in (Northern-) African or Middle-Eastern terrains.

In total with all color variants this adds up to 33 new objects.

Fixes in 1.1:

- land_* classes now have scope = 1 (Required for this to work on terrains, *shame*)
- 2 extra paint variants of "Big Apartment 3"

  Unsung Vietnam Mod WIP report 4 Screenshots    

Sgt Savage has informed us about The Unsung Wip report #4 release on the BI Forums.

Time again for a small update.

We are still working hard on finalising this release, finally we are making headway with it. We are nearing beta stage which will be fast tracked thanks to our Beta team that have been progressively testing everything as we move forward. No release date is scheduled since Murphy's law still applies.

Here are some screenshots of a new island in the works Cao Bang , which was made by Super 6.1
This island centres around a Mekong delta theme with lots of water ways with dense foliage along its banks, a VC's paradise.
It also has open grassy plains and bombed out hill areas reminiscent of some of your favourite Nam flicks.

While this map is not entirely complete and has a few small issues it is still a worthwhile addition to the unsung mod. We will endeavour to correct these small issues later down the track after the 2.5 release . It does also require MGB Nam but, we felt that this is not really an issue since most nam'ers already use a mixture of Unsung and MGB nam anyway...

This map I have to say really captures the Nam theme. Again a big thanks to Super 6.1 for donating it to the Unsung team.

Also you might notice the new M151 jeep and a PBR by YAC ... What's a good river map without the brown water navy anyway? Hopefully we will have time to also make some sampans too, but will have to wait n see.

  Mod Project US military forces of the 80s, 90s, early 2000 Screenshots    


Delta Hawk has announced his mod-project US military forces of the 80s, 90s, early 2000 on the BI Forums.

I would like to announce my project of US military forces. Right now I'm focused on 90s US Army. I am putting tremendous effort into research, accuracy and quality into this project.

The idea behind this project is from the mid 80s to the early 2000s all the gear was basically the same with the exception of a few pieces of gear, so it shouldn't be too hard to create popular US Army, Marine, Navy and Air Force units from these eras. I don't know how far I'm going to take this project, but the first planned release will be of basic units from the 90s.

I would also like to implement more functionality into this project, starting off with customizable nametapes and patches. All the gear is seperate, which will come in handy later.

  UH-72 Lakota WIP Screenshots    
DetCord has released a WIP screenshot of his UH-72 on the BI Forums

I've been working on this for a little over a month, when time presents itself.

The UH-72 Lakota is a twin-engine helicopter with a single, four-bladed main rotor. The UH-72 is a militarized version of the Eurocopter EC145 and is built by American Eurocopter division of EADS North America. Initially marketed as the UH-145, the helicopter was selected as the winner of the United States Army's Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program on 30 June 2006. In October 2006, American Eurocopter was awarded a production contract for 345 aircraft to replace aging UH-1H/V and OH-58A/C helicopters in the Army and Army National Guard fleets.


Hoping to look into doing several different variants that include the UH, OH, and AH versions.

We're not only working on vehicles but also on some features like radios such the SEM70, the SEM52SL and the vehicle radio SEM90

  German Armed Forces - WIP Information Screenshots    


The Task Force 141-team has released some new information about their mod German Armed Forces:

GalComT posted a new update of the German Armed Forces on the Armaholic forums about the Biber AVLB. The bridge is fully functional so now they moved on to adding all details and texturing this beauty.
Additionally GalComT revealed both the M109A3GA1 and the Fh70 155mm field howitzer are in the making!
