  SLX Mod (first public release) Addon release    
paragraphic l released the first public version of Solus's SLX Mod in the BIS Forums. This mod will give you a totaly new ArmA experience, as it changes almost everything in the game. For more information check out the readme in the archive.

Here it is; SLX Mod for ArmA the public release.
This mod is made to enhance the gameplay, make the AI smarter, effects better and add's some new gameplay features as well. Solus has been working on this mod for over a year and before that he allready made some awesome stuff for OFP which is all used and enhanced for the release.

This mod is not made to enhance performance, but everything is as optimised as much as was possible.

This also is made for both SP as MP but is mostly tested in an SP or LAN environment and as was shown with the SLX_Vehicles release, there might be some errors in that area.

Though it's called the public release, you might stumble upon some errors.

To write down everything that's added or changed is not possible, it's just to much!

  StargateGate Mod screenshots competition Screenshots    

Frostman from the StargateGate Mod has announced a screenshots competition on their Forums.

The next version of the gates is ready for beta testing, so I've decided to open up a competition.
Heres the rules, its a screenshot competition:

* You can enter as many images as you like and the screenshots have to be stargate related.
* The top 5 users will receive the StarGate RC1 addon for testing (including StarGates, Rings, SG Units and SG UI).
* Once one entry has been chosen all others from the user will be disregarded.
* Sign your entries somehow (watermark, signature, etc)

The images must be posted on the stargateassault.net gallery which can be found here (you will be required to join the forums before you can upload).

  OFrP #1 Hotfix released Addon release    

SoldierIsNotHistory from the French OFrP Team has released a Hotfix for OFrP #1 release on the BI Forums.

A Fix is available to correct some troubles.

- Mission which does not use OFrP on dedicated server are running now
- English translation of Object Pack is ok
- Fix on M2 tripod
- Fix on Eryx launcher
- Some corrections

  M60A3 updated Addon release    
rygugu has updated his US M60A3 NATO addon on the BI Forums.

B-Design Studio US M60A3 for ArmA V1.0

NOTE:
- The texture pass not found was corrected.
- The value of ammunition was corrected. In a word, the power of the bullet has weakened.
- The value of the armor was corrected. It made it from the version before to the weakness.
- It was made to do for the TAG system the class name.
- The suspension was made effective.
- The position of the exhaust was changed.

  L16A2 mortar for ArmA Addon release    
Sander from the Lowlands Warrior project has released a L16A2 mortar for ArmA on the BI Forums.

The addon is a straightforward port from the original OFP addon. The L16A2 mortar can be found on side Independent, vehicle class LLW - Static. A simple demonstration mission that can be played in both MP and SP is included in the archive.

  Ghillie snipers replacements released Addon release    
Cole.cz has released a fixed version of Ghillie snipers replacements for the standalone snipers addon by Mr Burns on the BI Forums and afterward, they have also released a Ghillie SF Marksman replacement addon.

Me and Ryan_D (Aliens 4.0 addon author managed to fix the replacement (no more crazy models now!) The archive contains 2 pbo's - one replaces only US Snipers, the second one replaces US and SLA snipers
Files are now also binarized and signed. Bikey included.
....
Well if you ask me, it just feels right to have the Ghillie guy in Special Forces.

  Invasion 1944's new infantry models Screenshots    

Jojimbo of the [Invasion 1944] mod has posted new screenshots of the progress they're making on their US and German units for the D-Day project. Seen here are the new German combat officer and US medic models.

More pictures of other units can be found on [their forums]

They're also looking for addonmakers, especially if they're good at making small arms (rifles, machine guns, SMGs etc.)

  Release of the P90 by Colonel Well Addon release    
Colonel Well, a french addonmaker, has released a P90 in the BIS Forums.

p90 addon original creator BXBX for OFP , with BXBX permission I convert it for Arma and edit textures.
in the editor , take a soldier and in the inisialised shield put this line:
removeallweapons this; this addmagazine "colonelwellp90mag"; this addmagazine "colonelwellp90mag"; this addweapon "colonelwellp90"

  ArmA Effects final release Addon release    
Maddmatt has updated his ArmA Effects and released it on the BI Forums. You must delete the old version before installing this, it has a different file name and may conflict with the new version if it's not removed.

New in 1.0:
*Sparks toned down
*Various dust changed by Nikita, including chopper downwash, tank cannon dust and dust kicked up by moving vehicles
*Weapon firing smoke and dust toned down, more realistic and doesn't obscure vision.
*Tank cannon muzzleflash changed
*Building destruction effects optimised
*Other minor changes

  Scripted Objective System (SOS) Beta updated Editing    
TacRod has updated his Scripted Objective System (SOS) Beta and released it on the BI Forums. Now includes the option to use Rommel's suppression script.

SOS is a set of scripts for mission makers.

Using SOS, adding various objectives to a mission is largely "plug and play", with little to no scripting required. SOS can be used to quickly and easily add complexity and variety to editor missions. It can also be used to make more elaborate missions.

One aim of SOS is to make it easy to quickly build platoon or larger scale missions with rudimentary enemy AI. Using SOS, it should be possible to quickly make large-scale missions that are fairly unpredictable.

SOS uses CoC's CEX for unit control, Chops' Y.A.A.A for artillery, Mandoble's Air Support Console, Kronzky's Urban Patrol Script and Rommel's suppression script (optional).

Though I have tried to make the code MP friendly, SOS has not been tested in MP and is primarily intended for SP.
