  Armed-assault.net & .de websites Community

Our friend Anders^on from the Armed-Assault.de (and .net) website has informed us that they are currently restoring their websites and they should be online in the next upcoming days.

Unfortunately their latest backup out of their datacenter is quite old since it's from Dec. 06, but we know them well enough to be sure that they will update their websites very often like they used to do !

  Real Combat Photography contest Community

Armedassault.info is proud to announce the launch of the Real Combat Photography contest or RCP-contest for short.

We hope this contest will promote combat photography and creativity in both 2D art and addonmaking, and to show to newcomers what ArmA is capable off.

Entries can be submitted from Friday December 21st 2007 until Saturday January 5th 2008 @ 22:00GMT (11PM). Entries sent even a minute later than this will not be accepted. You can enter into the contest by posting your entry into [this forum topic] along with the information that is required as per the Conditions of Entry that can be found in the same topic. After January 5th there will be a pre-selection, and we will inform you of who has made it through to the final. We will then proceed to judging the finalists resulting in the numbers 1, 2 and 3 being announced.

The entries will be judged by prominent community figures based on the following system:

The number 1 gets three points, number 2 gets two points and number 3 gets one point. After all of the votes have been collected, all votes will be put into a ranking, which will result in a winner, runner up and third place. Should there be a tie, the least edited (so the image that looks most like stock ArmA) will win.

Good luck!

  ArmAtube re-launched Community

ArmAtube has changed it's host and script, now they are being hosted by another host with unlimited bandwidth and videos uploaded and they have changed their domain to armed-assault-tube.com, the old domain armatube.info is disabled now and doesn't redirect to the new site.
Please keep in mind, that Kenwort couldn't save the DB and videos from the early version of ArmAtube, you need to register again and add your videos a second time

Armed-Assault.de and .net servers still down Community

We contacted our friends and colleagues from Armed-Assault.de (and .net) website to get some more information about their problems.

Their host have deleted by mistake content of all of their rented servers even including backup servers. The team still have all site's files but unfortunately only a several months old database save.

They are currently waiting that the hoster makes everything possible to recover lost data, to avoid to restart their websites with a very old content.

Armed-Assault.de and .net are down Community

Our friends and colleagues from Armed-Assault.de (and .net) website are currently experiencing trouble with one of their server, that's why the two sites are unreachable since a few days. They are working on the issue and their websites should be back in the near future.

Mr Burns adds some information:
Due to alot of bad circumstances all our network pages went down - including ArmA Bugtracker and hosted Mod pages. What makes it worse is that some of you may not have our contact info and aren´t aware yet of anything that happened.
We are really sorry for all this.
The admins are working hard (judging from their online times) and i assure you that we will sort out the mess, no matter what comes!
If you have questions mail me (burns.ofpc) @gmail.com

  Create walk animations easier Community

MattRochelle has informed us that the Lost World Mod has posted on the BIS forums urging the community to persuade BI to release the animation tools to help them import their own Maya ones into O2. To sum up, without this tool it is very difficult to make realistic animations for their dinosaurs, and of course all others addons using special animations would be easier to create/import into ArmA!

We are supporting the Lost World Mod on this issue and hope that BIS will show one more time their great support and their interest for the community! You can read the full original post in the comments.

  CWR Developments Community
While James Gastovski was updating his blog, the Cold War Rearmed team has posted some interesting and heartening news about this project on the Bohemia Interactive web site.

The Cold War Rearmed (CWR) modification is a collaborative project with Bohemia Interactive (BI) and community fans to bring the ever popular Cold War Crisis campaign and content into ArmA. The idea is to rework the original content to take advantage of the enhancements BI has made to the ArmA engine. As a second phase, the CWR team also plans to convert the Resistance campaign and content.

Read more about the project on the Bohemia Interactive web site and have a look at some astonishing pictures.
