Kju informed us about DevCon 2012-01-23 release on the BI Forums as well as new PvPscene AI Tweaks releases : AIGunnerToUseAllWeapons and QuickSwitchVehiclePositions

This is more like a first preview release of the DevCon.
Still it is already very powerful and most developers should find it very useful.

- AIGunnerToUseAllWeapons_AI_C_PvPscene:

With an important fix in the recent 1.61 beta patches,
AI in vehicles finally starts to act properly with a player inside the vehicle as well.

This means the AI gunner engages targets by himself now.
However he is still restrained in the use of the full weapon arsenal available to him.
This little tweak changes/fixes that.
So the AI gunner will now engage also with SABOT/HEAT and missiles at targets
(aka fire automatically without command order for each shoot).
(normally only true for: MG/AP/rockets)


- QuickSwitchVehiclePositions_SP_Controls_C_PvPscene:

Preface: Works only in SP; requires XEH/CBA; may still have issues in special situations.

The addon allows you to quickly switch between driver, gunner and commander seat.

To switch between gunner and commander use the key action assigned to "Swap gunner" (to be found near the end in controls).
To switch between driver and commander use the key action assigned to "Swap gunner" and hold Shift/Ctrl/Alt at the same time.

Important: It uses selectPlayer. That means you switch to the AI entity.
The benefit is that you can switch as player commander to the AI driver,
and still have the AI gunner and (now/temporary AI) commander engage targets on their own.

  Blake's PINS and Bombing. V0.2 Alpha Addon release    
blakeace has released an updated Blake's PINS(Pseudo Inertial Navigation System) and Bombing. V0.2 Alpha addon on the BI Forums.

Version 0.2a Changes

- Added config check to increase the number of valid weapons recognised opfor laser missiles now work
- Fixed incorrect laser for opfor side
- Added basic check to redirect lasers that are under buildings onto a face of the bounding box
- Added generic lock cone for laser guided weapons
- Added lock indicator when laser weapons have acquired the laser.
- Added CBA keys handler to allow the use of the keyboard with some functions
- Binocular key can be used insitu of the hold breath key.
- The keyboard lookleft etc keys will now move the flir camera around if available.
- The zoomin key has better response through CBA handler.
- Added line of sight check to the laser, no need to keep refreshing via the flir camera. The laser will still revert to armed from on after 2mins of not using the camera.



Note: Video is of an older module version. I haven't had time to create a newer one.
Current version has no module, it uses CBA to launch the addon.

  Nogovan Armour Pack, Crew and Light Infantry Units Addon release    
R0adki11 has informed us about Nogovan Light Infantry Units, Nogovan Crew and Armour Pack addons release on the BI Forums.

Today Im releasing some updated and some new releases

Today Im updating my Nogovan Light Infantry Units to use the ACR model as I prefer these over the CDF models, the updated units use the same .pbo name and classes and loadouts so they won't break any missions created with these units.
However they do now require my backpacks addon now.

Also Im releasing an updated version of my Nogovan Crew addon, this now includes an TankCrew Model.

Also I am releasing an Armour Pack, this is to fill the gap of lack of armoured units in the NAF arsenal, Im including a T72 in the pack as the NAF will be upgrading their armoured units slowly. In the future I will be releasing a second armour pack which will include T55 variants and MTLB.

Please note the armoured pack requires the Crew Pack

  Georgian Armed Forces Mod 1.2 Addon release    
SaS TrooP has released a Georgian Armed Forces Mod 1.2 addon on the BI Forums.
ACE is needed but a non ACE version config has been added.

GAF Mod, as the name says in fact, as its main objective considers realistic recreation of miltiary forces of Georgia from time period 2008-2010. This is first stable release, mod is still being developed. For now there are regular land forces and vehicles, circa 200-250 units, so you HAVE content to play OPFOR is also included in form of South Ossetian militia, together with 3 coop or SP missions and one training mission, rather for new ACE players the mod is based on.
In further development it is planned to release Georgian Army in Afghanistan and then Georgian Special Forces, however I will probably add Ossetian, too.

Version 1.2:
- Infantry 2010 nearly completely redone, new multicam scheme used
- CREATED NON ACE CONFIG due to numerous requests
- Some minor config fixes etc.

History:
The Karosa ŠM11 ("Š"koda "M"ěstský - Škoda City) (Pronounced: Esh Em 11) - also known as the "OFP bus" by members of the BIS community is a city bus which was produced by the Czechoslovak national company Karosa in Vysoké Mýto from 1961 to 1981. It is the successor to the Škoda 706 RTO bus.

  Spetsnaz GRU v1.3 by Colonel Stagler Addon release    
Colonel Stagler has released an updated Spetsnaz GRU v1.3 addon on the BI Forums.

v1.3 Features
- Overall the look and feel of these units is that of a conventional military spetsnaz team, not MVD or FSB. (I may add heavier MVD style units later on)
- 6 kinds of Operators wearing Gorka D: Teamleader, Scout, Marksman, Assaultman, Medic, & Operator (Under Men).
- 6 kinds of Operators wearing Gorka D Izlom: Teamleader, Scout, Marksman, Assaultman, Medic, & Operator(Under Men (Woodland)).
- A Sniper and Spotter wearing KZS camoflage suits (Under Men).
- OA features compatible: Backpacks etc (OA thermal textures will come in a later update).

  AI Forward Observer, version 1.1 by Blackace Addon release    
Blakeace has informed us about updated Blake's AI Forward Observer v1.1 release on the BI Forums.

Version 1.1 changes
- Added SADARM,WP and SMOKE firemission types if the artillery have those types of ammunition.
- Added check to gather if a unit is in combat, and alter lead values less if they are.
- Added the ability to add FO's dynamically during a mission.
- Added a check to terminate the FO's scripts if the artillery units are eliminated.
- Changed Blakes_Fall_of_shot marker displays round type and type of target to help mission designers with analysing their missions.
Note the SADARM is very powerful, especially if used against human players.
In the next version I want to add counters specific to each round type.

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.

Military virologist Lieutenant Colonel Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable and manmade.
Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe the world.
But he is not alone.

In December 2009, Robert Neville loses his wife Zoe and daughter Marley in a helicopter accident during a chaotic quarantine of Manhattan.
A genetically-engineered variant of the measles virus created by Dr. Alice Krippin, meant as a cure for cancer, had mutated into a lethal strain.
It spreads throughout the world, killing 90% of humanity.
By September 2012, Neville is the last healthy human in New York City ; the rest of the plague's survivors have degenerated into predatory, cannibalistic beings referred to as "Darkseekers",who hunt the immune humans as prey.
The Darkseekers are so named for hiding during daylight due to a painful intolerance of UV radiation.
