Or it could be..that it's just a screenshot..I don't think it was meant to have a story behind it.
Now just enjoy it and don't try to make up a story for it and call it unrealistic. It's a good screenshot, I like it.

I wouldn't say its an impossibility, for all we know he could be standing next to another running car or otherwise noisy environment. And even professionals can get tunnel vision if they are focusing on something in front of them :)

Well, he doesn´t get shot in the face because he doesn´t look back when he is running away...

Maybe he is deaf because of machinegun fire like that soldier in BHD :) Or he "plays" ACE mod (walking through almost entire mission deaf was a wonderful experience:)
