  Real Mortars by Jones Editing    
Jonescrusher released his Real Mortars Mod. No tweaking or scripting required it is all self contained.

This mod is based off of my Mortar scripts. I added 4 charges of each ammo class for more control over the ballistics. Additionally I added a feature that allows you to open the map and click the map to verify target data.

I had planned on releasing it as part of a full artillery conversion pack but realised that I wanted to Do completely different user interfaces and options with the M119 and D30
So I decided to release this as a stand alone mod as the time it will require to finish my othe rprojects might be some time.

I haven't been able to test it on a dedicated server so there is the possibility of an issue. I doubt it, because I had none with the scripts but I am not 100% sure.
So if you come across any MP issues let me know I and I will fix it ASAP.

There is the ability to over ride the default settings with the init.sqf I added a copy of the init.sqf in a demo mission. and copies of the text in the readme for how to over ride them.

Features:
- High explosive 4 powder charges (High damage 10 meter blast area)
- White phosphorus 4 powder charges (Low damage 20 meter blast area)
- Target area data (While sitting in mortar open map and single click data will appear in top right of screen)
- Registration fire, Returns gun data with impact data.
- Ammo restrictions such as reload times and ammo truck proximity.
- Default options over ride, Default setting can be changed via the mission "init.sqf" file
- All displays are shown Milradians and meters

We got informed that Bohemia Interactive Studios have released a new Beta Patch v1.03.58879 on the Official BI WIKI page.

Note: The change log file that is included with the beta patch is longer than what is displayed below this is because some of the changes listed were in previously released patches and thus not part of this beta patch.

- [58872] Mouse filtering strenght adjustable using mouseSmoothing=NNNN in user config.

  Isla Terra - IceBreakr Screenshots    
IceBreakr informed us all that he has started a new ambitious project, making a Real World Map.

Isla Terra
I've started a new island project as MaxRiga pointed out that we're missing a real world map, of course: made in a miniature version suitable for infantry combat with support of choppers and aircraft

Map will feature a realistic height data of world, and I'll try to create Africa/South Asia as a desert, South America is a jungle and other places similiar/close to a real world vegetation.

Map will be made for A2 only and will feature towns and villages in positions where real biggest cities are located.

So far its plan to use default vanilla BIS objects/vegetation only so we can have some nice "superpowers" scenarios up & running soon.

Island will be a sandbox for all mission makers. Some will do World Domination with two sides battling for more resources and third side will be an independent (rebel resistance) that will be AI played and control the world in the start.
Another guy can make a smaller scale mission where one island(continent) attacks other, third creator will make a mission pack that only plays in Africa or S. American jungles.

This will probably evolve to an open community project so we can improve the "world" together. I'll keep you posted and hopefully have to show first alpha shots so we can agree on the size

  SLX Mod Addon release    
Solus released his ArmA2 SLX Mod addons Pack on the BI Forums. Addon include: AI improvements, some animation fixes, different wouding system (different from the First Aid modules), and various little tweaks.

Test them out and give feedback if you want. They need the CBA addon for the extended eventhandlers. I tried to make them more separate so they can all be released individually. The AI settings might be off since I have to run on the lowest settings on the laptop I'm using and I can't see very far in the game.

BIS did a pretty good job implementing a lot of ArmA1 SLX Mod features but there always seem to be things that need more polishing and fixing. The most critical problem in ArmA 2 is the findcover and sethidebehind functions not working, leaving AI's usually trying to hide in front of things when using the default AI. Take care.

  A Different Kind of War [SP Mission] Mission release    

UbiquitousUK released a new version v1.2 of his Singleplayer mission named A Different Kind of War.

This is my first release since "Sweep & Strike" a moth or two ago. If you like this, please check that mission out too and stop by with some feedback! I am particularly interested in feedback regarding the difficulty level of the mission.

  Mind the Fulda Gap [MP Mission] Mission release    

bartkusa released a new Multiplayer mission called Mind the Fulda Gap on the BI Forums.
Up to 54 playable positions, but can be played with as few as 15 real people. Fewer still, if you're savvy with ordering around AI units and/or using High Command (which I am not).

My hope was to make a Saving-Private-Ryan-style delaying action, where the players would have to use guerilla tactics to delay the advance until assistance arrives. I don't know how hard the mission is, so I haven't programmed that assistance in; it's simply defeat all the enemy waves, or die trying.

I think the players are slightly overpowered, so it's fun in a different way than I had intended.

I know my maps are kind of ghetto and low on production-value, so advice and critical feedback are welcome.
