  Sakakah Al Jawf OPEN BETA released Addon release    
Opteryx released an open beta of his Sakakah Al Jawf Island in the BI Forums. For further information about the addon click here.

Sakakah is based on a real city in the norther province of Al Jawf Saudia Arabia, I found the city while scouring for cities in Iraq that could be useful. What I liked most about the city was the generally good spacing between each district, block and individual houses, so I though I might have a go at recreating it in ArmA. However once I realized how big it actually was I made a decision to scale it down to about 1:2 size, this was quite possibly a wise choice now that I see how much effort is need to even reach a playable version. It shouldn't really be called "Sakakah Al Jawf", but I felt just Sakakah was a bit dry and Al Jawf rings a bit better after the city name, but you can call it Sakakah or whatever you want to.

This is an OPEN BETA, I would like to make that very clear to people, this version does not represent final version at all, I hope to change a lot of things on this map before being deemed final. Purpose of this open beta is to gather as much feedback and performance data as possible from a wider audience, initially I had planned a closed beta, but after a bit o' thinking I'd figure it'd be better to keep it open for the purpose of getting a vaster amount of feedback.

Types of feedback I want:
- Location of lag zones.
- General impressions.
- Errors found, malplaced objects etc.
- General suggestions.
- How is game play? both MP and SP feedback appreciated.

  FFN Mod Beta 0.75 released Addon release    
TonyRanger has sent us his first ArmA work, this mod features new effects, scripts, AI enhancements and game features added to demo missions. This version contains 3 demo missions showing AI combat ability in woods, CQB, and Mercenary game mode. TonyRanger would like some help to make new animations, models, to continue improving ArmA with new features!

FFN Means Fight For Nogova,it's a story about several mercenaries who come form Nogova. They earn money in order to rebuild Nogova (something big happened to Nogova in 2002, but it's another story).



Here's a short list of new stuff, read the readme for more information!

Added:
- More realistic AI engage range
- Dodge from danger
- Single use M136 launcher
- Smoke shell screen
- MachineGunner uses suppressing fire tactic
- Suppressing fire effect on AI and player
- New wound system, bleeding and unconsciousness
- Engineers can repair vehicles (if they have tools), deactivate mines and reuse them, build sandbags
- Spec Op can use flash, and tear gaz grenades with effects on player and AI
- New CQB AI
- Officer can call artillery and create foxholes
- New artillery system
- Morale system
- Specialized units are skilled only in their duty

Missions:

The Mercenary Mode is more like multi-player campagin as a Role-Play-Game,there will be many RPG features in this mode,and also realisc style combat missions,join a mercenary group and select your mission,the test Mission 3 will show a part of it.

  OFPEC ILS Released! Addon release    
Hoz from OFPEC has informed us that the Editors Depot over at OFPEC has released their Instrument landing system.

Wikipedia - "The Instrument landing system (ILS) is a ground-based instrument approach system which provides precise guidance to an aircraft approaching a runway, using a combination of radio signals and, in many cases, high-intensity lighting arrays to enable a safe landing during Instrument meteorological conditions (IMC), such as low ceilings or reduced visibility due to fog, rain, or blowing snow.

  Grenade launcher and 5 Round grenade pounch modifications released Addon release    
Heinbloed has released his Grenadier Modifications on the BI Forums. The mod changes the grenade and flare pouches for Grenadiers, and adds a new sight for the Grenade Launcher itself.

- Sight for under barrel grenadelanchers. Calibrated from 50 to 300 meters.
- HE and flare grenades replaced by 5rnd grenade pounch (2 Slots).
- Grenadiers equipped with 8 magazines, 4 handgrenades and 4 5rnd grenade pounches.

For full functionality this addon must be installed on server and client.

  SU-29 v1.0 released Addon release    
GIJOE94 released the Su-29 plane made by CheyenneAh56 on our Forums.. Have fun flying over Sahrani in another civilian aircraft!

Updates:
-New textures
-Cockpit added
-Faster flight

Bugs:
- The cockpit is hard to see out of.
- When looking behind you in the cockpit view the back of the plane isn't viewable.

  ArmA Effects Updated Addon release    
Maddmatt has updated his impressive ArmA Effects mod and released it on the BI Forums. The new version includes many new features and improvements...

It contains:
* A new grenade effect.
* A new explosive ammo effect (for example the Vulcan cannon and the KA-50 HE ammo).
* A new tank muzzleflash.
* More smoke when buildings are destroyed.
* Tweaked bullet impacts.
* New smoke effects.
* AT backblast effects.
* Aircraft destroyed in the air now leave a flame/smoke trail.
* New bomb effect (The Harrier's bombs)
* Various other tweaks.

  TrueRangeAI Beta v0.9 Released Addon release    
rg7621 has released the TrueRangeAI beta mini-mod over on the BI Forums. The mod increases the engagement ranges for AI soldiers making them more realistic and true to life.

This mod (TrueRangeAI), the first phase of our upcoming AI modifications, will adjust only AI spotting distance and engagement ranges. We were both fed up with the fact that the AI would not engage us (or even see us for that matter) at ranges where we could easily spot, identify, and engage them. We are shooting for realism, and trying to make AI engagement ranges much closer to those of human players.

  Bush Wars Mod - Several releases Addon release    
The Bush Wars Conflict Mod released today several addons in the BI Forums. The addons are: a Bush Wars GUI, SAAF pilots, a new version of their Alouette II beta and a brandnew Alouette III K-car beta.

  RealArtillery addon by Jones updated to 1.1 Addon release    
o3oDeath aka Jones has updated his former Manual artillery addon under the name of RealArtillery on the BI Forums. This release features reworked arty guns,and rounds, scripts for forward observers, two missions and a mod folder.

  Another artillery addon released ! Addon release    
Chops has released an arty addon on the BI Forums. This addon comes with 3 SP Missions.

This is an artillery addon that allows M119 artillery strikes of four different warheads, through the action menu and mapclicks, out to a range of 7600m.

  UN Vehicles by Plasman Addon release    
Plasman has released an UN Vehicles addon on the BI Forums.

Includes UN M113 with side armor plates (slighly improved the vehicle's armor to 180 instead of the default 150), UN M113 ambulances. Both vehicles have customised interiors.
Added the UN Land Rovers fm my previous UN addon.
This is a self standing addon: vehicles come with their own crewmen. UN Soldiers addon not required.

  Real M136 1.0 released Addon release    
Inkompetent informed us, that he has released an addon that turns the M136 into a single shot weapon, just as it is in real life in the BI Forums.

The weapon is automatically dropped after firing and rendered unusable, making AT-business even more tricky than before.
!Warning!: This modification alters original values in cfgVehicles!
