  Swedish Forces Pack 1.2 released ! Addon release
granQ has released an updated Swedish Forces Pack 1.2 on the BI Forums. Combined Operations and CBA needed.

It didn't feel that long time ago but I guess its been, sorry for the delay. Since the first public release (August 2010), we been constantly playing at Anrop.se and I am happy to say that we feel the 2015 scenario addons is fully playable at this stage. Some addons requires and will get more work, but it should be enough to keep people happy and enjoy the mod.
So now its time to share the updated 2015, but as a bonus we will throw in the "second part" of the mod, the 1981 cold war scenario.
Based on the submarine U-137 that went aground out a Swedish naval base 1981 our aim is to fcous on what would had happend if the Soviet decided to take it back with force.

One island is included which we are far from completed, but its also a "call for help", we hope someone will download it, get inspired and join our crew. We really need someone thats skilled with making the satelite/mask mapping for the ground textures. The placement, missions we can do.

Including (2015 scenario):

* 2 Aircrafts, Saab JAS 39 Griffin and the Saab 105 in a "counter insurgency" configuration.
* 2 helicopters, the NH 90 and the A109.
* Swedish version of the famous Leopard 2 tank and the Swedish Cv 90 IFV.
* The Xa-203 wheeled APC.
* The RGM 32 patrol vehicle.
* Soldiers in desert, woodland and winter uniforms.
* Several weapons.
* Combat boat 90 and the HMS Visby Corvette

Including (1981 scenario PREVIEW VERSION):

* Aj 37 Viggen Aircraft, famous for being the first plane outside NATO locking on the SR-71 Blackbird.
* 3 helicopters, (Alouette II, Uh-1, Ch46)
* The world famous "S-tank", the only tank without a turret.
* The Ikv 91, support tank.
* Several all terrain vehicles.

Our team is also looking for new talents and we are looking to fill this positions:

* ACE/config expert. (To make a separate fully compatible config for ACE)
* More players
* Mission editors
* Config fixers
* Documentation writers
* More modellers, esp for the 1981 scenario
* Textures, to improve our current models.
* World editors, to help out with the Swedish island currently in progress.

  Tool : User Interface Editor Editing
Gaia has released an User Interface Editor on the BI Forums.

I'm happy to present you ingame tool we're using for internal development for some time. It's simple WYSIWYG editor for Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA user interface.
It won't do all work for you, you still have to have basic knowledge about how GUI works and where to define it. However, it can really speed up the process of creating and modifying dialogs and resources.
Instruction how to operate the editor can be found on community wiki.

I'll appreciate any feedback about bugs and suggestions

This is not an official tool.

  More Thermal Scopes and Zeroing by Xeno426 Addon release
Xeno426 has released updated TGW Thermal Scopes v1.25 and TGW Zeroing v1.25 addons on the BI Forums.

These two mods add more thermal scopes to the OPFOR side and add Zeroing to more ArmA2 weapons that should have it.

The Thermal Scopes mod isn't meant to be realistic, as it gives the thermal imaging to FN FAL with the PVS-4 scope and to the NSPU version of the SVD. It's purpose is simply to add thermal sights to more OPFOR weapons than just the AK-74 GOSHAWK.
This mod adds the Thermal scope to the FN FAL AN/PVS4, SVD NSPU, and rangefinder binoculars. It also modifies the Metis launcher so it doesn't force you into thermal mode anymore. Its default mode is thermal, but you can now toggle betwen thermal and regular optics.

The Zeroing mod, however, is supposed to be a bit more realistic. Comments as to what weapons should really have a scope adjustment feature are welcome.
This mod adds the ability to zero in sights has been added to the following weapons: SVD (and variants), KSVK, VSS, XM8 weapon family, DMR, Mk12 SPR, AKS-74 PSO, AK-107 PSO, AK-107 GL PSO, M249 TWS, PKP, all Mk.16 variants without ACOG/RCO sights, all Mk.17 variants without ACOG/RCO sights, MP5, MP5SD, M4A1, M16A2, M16A2 GL, M16A4, M16A4 GL, M240, M249, M249 Des, FN FAL (and AV/PVS-4), Lee Enfield No.4, G36C (and variants), PP-19 Bizon (and SD), AK-74, AK-74 GL, AKS-74, AKS-74U, AKS-74 NSPU, AKS-74 GOSHAWK, RPK-74.
Weapons with RCO sights are now zeroed to 150 meters.
Weapons with ACOG sights are zeroed to 100 meters.

The binoculars no longer force you to use their "scope" when you select them. To look through the binoculars, tap right-click (the default key for bringing up iron sights).

Thermal changelog:
1.25
Metis launcher now can use non-thermal scope, though thermal mode is still default

Zeroing changelog:
1.25
Fixed compatibility issues concerning ANZINS 1.5.2
Added compatibility with ANZINS weapons_x.pbo

  September 1939 Mod : WIP screenshots Screenshots
Topas has released September 1939 Mod WIP screenshots on the BI Forums.

September 1939 Mod team is happy to announce it's existence and plans to depict the events that marked the beginning of the largest armed conflict in the history of men.
On September 1st 1939 armed forces of the 3rd Reich and a small contingent of Slovak army invaded Poland without any decleration of war. With no action taken by England or France (who both joined the war on September 3rd) the Polish Army was left to fight the Nazi force and counter the Soviet invasion that followed on September 17th alone. The organised polish resitance has been broken on October 6th.

Below ... we present a tiny fraction of what is being currently in the works.
Just to give you a sort of a general idea.
With more and more progress achieved more WIP reports will surely follow.

  Mouse Wheel View Distance (MWVD) by tpw ... updated Addon release
tpw has released a Mouse Wheel View Distance (MWVD) v1.00 addon on the BI Forums.

Here is a simple script to change viewdistance on the fly by holding down either control key and scrolling up or down with your mousewheel. If you find your computer struggling due to many AI or high scenic complexity, then quickly drop the viewdistance. Want to enjoy the view? Increase it!

How it works:
This addon simply installs a few user interface eventhandlers to monitor keydown, keyup and mousewheel. If you press ctrl + scroll up/down, then the viewditance is increased/decreased by the amount you specify. You can specify minimum and maximum viewdistance values which won't be violated.

Edit 17-02-11 : Mouse Wheel View Distance (MWVD) v1.02 release.

1.01 - changed to [ctrl] + [alt] to resolve key conflicts

1.02 - view distance hint window now disappears after 1 second
