Malaysian Infantry units released Addon release
Mr_Centipede released his Malaysian Infantry Units in the official Forums

The wound texture is fixed and soldiers in banana leaves camo are now much darker (greener) than seen in the pics.

This addon is packed with 7-zip, a packer tool similar to Winrar. You can get it from HERE, but the files can also be extracted with Winrar.

Signeed sharper recoils and real rates of fire released Addon release
Q1184 has released an updated version (he signed it) of his Sharper recoils modification on the BI Forums.

Q11_Recoils
As many of you may have noticed BIS recoils are a bit weird. Apart from being slow (BIS recoil starts after the shot) there is also some strange movement of the gun after the recoil itself. It quickly moves down and then up again, probably trying to simulate rezeroing. What I did was 1)Start the recoil the moment the shot starts, 2)Get rid of the barrel dive (almost to zero) and 3) Make the overall recoil cycle shorter. I liked the result and decided to share the stuff with the community. I would appreciate any constructive feedback to further improve this little mod.

Q11_RealROF:
Realistic rates of fire for small arms.

For list of changes in the update, see the first post of the forum thread...

Gravity Gun for Armed Assault Videos
rundll.exe surprised the community with very interesting video shwoing his Gravity Gun script in Armed Assault in the BI Forums.

Hi, I was fiddling a bit with the scripting commands and after playing HalfLife 2 ep.2 A thought stroke my mind it would be funny to have a gravity gun in ArmA. So I made one.

Well. its not finished yet but here is the progress and plan:
working:
-Possible to pick up an object where your gun is pointing by shooting at it.
-The object is "glued"to your gun until you fire it.
-A throw and drop mode, selectable as if you would toggle semi and auto fire. Throw will fire the object in the gun direction. Drop will just drop the object to the ground.
-Specify a list of objects classes that are allowed to pick up. There arent that many objects in arma that allow physics simulation. (all vehciles do but you dont really want to throw a tank)
-config of the "weapon", ammo and ammocrate

Todo
-Make the pickup more precise. Sometimes nearby objects you cant see are picked.
-Create a weapon model, now I just use the m16
-make the object be drawn to you instead of teleport.

  Durg's Vegetation Fix released Screenshots
Durg78 has released an amazing Vegetation Fix for ArmA trees and bushes on the BI Forums. This addon replaces most ArmA vegetation (trees and bushes) with the enhanced AI view blocking versions.

Not all (but most) vegetation have been fixed in this way, as some had a fairly decent View Geometry already. Grass has not been modified.
Results :
Performance : Amazingly, there is no noticable impact on performance.
Gameplay : You can now use trees and bushes as cover without worrying if the AI can see you when they shouldn't be able to.
Installation
1) Open the .rar file and copy the "@DurgsVegetationFix" folder to your ArmA directory.
2) Go to the ArmA\@DurgsVegetationFix\tools directory and run the Durgs_Vegetation_Fix.bat file.
3) Add -mod=@DurgsVegetationFix to your ArmA shortcut OR use the Kegetys ArmA Launcher.
This procedure does NOT modify/replace your existing plants.pbo.

Tank Fire Control Systems updated (v0.2) Addon release
NoWonderDog has released an updated version of his Tank Fire Control Systems in the BI Forums.

NWD_TankFCS v0.2 Released

This includes many, many changes:
-- AI T-72s now load APFSDS by default
-- AI tanks no longer try to attack by firing their rangefinders into the sky (???)
-- New T-72 machine gun ammo loadout (this should be the correct loadout, regardless of what you may find online)
-- many new ammunition types added to the config, although not yet programmed into the FCS.
-- New tank models, with many new features:
- main gun reticles are now accurate at any zoom level. Both tanks have two field of view levels that will automatically toggle when you zoom in or out by the appropriate amount (as long as you use the keyboard for zoom).
- T-72 turret is now declined 1°13' forward, as it should be
- T-72 driver can now unbutton (but the turret is locked when he does)
- T-72 commander's AA machine gun is now mounted on the rear of the cupola, and can no longer be fired from within the tank (the AI does not unbutton in combat, however, and thus will never use it)
- M1A1 commander's weapon station is remodeled to look (kind of) like the real thing
- M1A1 commander's machine gun can now only be fired from inside the tank or (unaimed) from a semi-buttoned position. You are currently not more protected when semi-buttoned than when unbuttoned. If you play with external views, you will still be able to fire ( and aim! ) the gun from the external view. You can also, due to a limitation in ArmA, zoom in to 3x magnification when semi-buttoned and looking through the vision block.
- M1A1 gun superelevation is now applied by physically moving the gun barrel after you lase, instead of moving the shell when it's fired.
- M1A1 dynamic lead is now applied by directly rotating the turret, and not by rotating the hull and relying on the AI driver to keep the hull stationary
-- New, radically different damage models. Tanks are much better protected on their frontal aspects, and are completely immune to small arms.

All the AI problems should be fixed in this version; they are very deadly now. Taking on an M1A1HA in a T-72M1 is usually a losing proposition, but if you can get the first shot you have a chance.

I still haven't tested this mod online, but it should be much more compatible than before. It relies heavily on animations embedded in the model, however, and I wouldn't be surprised if it requires the mod to be present on the server.

It's rather complex now, and I may have introduced lots of new bugs. I appreciate any and all bug reports. I'm aware of the model warnings in ArmA.rpt, but they don't cause any problems as far as I've seen. The degenerated faces warning is actually a false alarm, as it's referring to the (very small but nonzero area) faces in the TPD-K1 analog range display.

  MK-20 Rockeye released Addon release
Mondkalb and NeoArmageddon released another addon (MK-20 Rockeye) in the BI Forums.

MK-20 Rockeye
The MK-20 Rockeye is a Cluster bomb which releases after being dropped 247 socalled Bomblets (Submunitions) and causes damage to large areas. The MK-20 was created for busting tank formations. But some bomblets don't detonate and work like mines.

Features:
-MK-20 splits after 3.5 seconds above 330ft in many small bomblets
-MK-20 is unarmed when releasing under 300ft and will hit the ground (Don't come too near, then)
-Bomb is splitting into two halfes
-Effective damageradius between 20 and 600 Meters
-Some Bomblets stay and become landmines

Knwon Bugs:
-Some Bomblets explode to early

  BTR-80 updated (v2.0) Addon release
MechaStalin, Red Cottage, granQ, and Sea Demon released a revised version of their BTR-80 in the BI Forums.

Small update of BTR with material/normal maps and compatible with latest versions of ArmA, still no self shadows or new skins though as I'm not really in the mood for working on this. If you're willing to join the gaps in the model feel free to do it and send it to me and I"ll do the shadows and release the updated version.

M14 EBR v1.0 released Addon release
Yossarian informed us about the release of his latest addon. This time he released his M14 EBR addon in the BI Forums.

This addon is still pretty rough. The textures aren't as nice as I would have liked. Hopefully they will be updated. There are still a bunch of things I'd like to fix, but I'm releasing now so people can try out the new weapons.

How to use the Short-Dot scope:

"+"/"-" keys on the numpad (default) zoom in/out. Zoom value is estimated.

Ammo Crate: Ammo/M14-EBR crate

Thanks to all those at the BIforums who were supportive and helpful.
