The FFAA Mod has released an "Insurgentes" pack on their web site. This pack released now as a standalone is featuring insurgents units previously released as a component of Spanish Army mod pack 3.
As it was asked by the community, here is the first pack release : the insurgents, or terrorists.
This addon is packed with 7-zip, a packer tool similar to Winrar. You can get it from HERE, but the files can also be extracted with Winrar.

Today, Placebo posted some updates on the BIS community blog. The Community Awards 2008 nomination form is online!
Many words have been spoken about how important the community is as a whole, the talent that the community collectively brings forth, to provide us with many things that keep ArmA alive, whether that be addons, mods, missions, campaigns, squads, websites or simply just some damn fine conversations on the various medium out there.
Most of the time it would be unfair to pick out one or two examples of the best that the community has to offer, but then as they say, life's not fair! To that end we can officially announce the first stage in the 2008 Community Awards, these awards will be a chance for the community to nominate and then vote for their favourites in a number of areas (see below), The category winners will each receive prizes and to hopefully ensure that as many people nominate/vote as possible there will also be 5 randomly awarded prizes of ArmA posters, the posters will be given to 5 names of people who nominated/voted during the awards process as drawn from a hat
There are four Award categories :
- ArmA Addon/Mod of the year 2008
- ArmA Mission/Campaign of the year 2008
- Community Website of the year 2008 (eg news site, squad site, addon site whatever, online radio station etc)
- Community Member of the year 2008 (eg most helpful, most interesting, most productive, most passionate etc)
Prizes for the winners of the Awards, will be announced shortly.
So, head over and to the BIS community blog and cast your vote!

wld427 has released his MH500 with Hellfires in the BIS Forums.
OK. so some people have said tey were looking for a hellfire armed little bird. Well here you go. I made it for the RACS because they seem to be the bastard child of Sahrani.

I fixed the horizon indicator bug and added the radar. if anybody else has suggestions let me know.

-=UOE.Txalo=- from the FFAA Mod has released the Spanish Army Modpack 3.2 in the BIS Forums. This Mod adds a lot new vehicles/soldiers and aircrafts to the ArmA, if you want to see a complete list click HERE. We have noted only a few below.
- Spanish version of Leopard 2E tank.
- Special operations staff units (MOE on spanish)
- Heavy armour transport TOA, machinegunner Browning M2 version
- Tiger HAD attack chopper armed with four anti tank missiles Hellfire II, two not guided 70 mm rocket launchers and 30 mm GIAT cannon

Yoma well known for his Addon Synchroniser has released another useful gadget for Armed Assault on his website. This time he made a small tool (Yoma Arma Log Parser) that allows you to filter your Arma.rpt (ArmA Error log file).
I made another small tool that could be interesting for server admins/ people who have a lot of problems.
All it basicly does is open your Arma.rpt and show the lines in there grouped. (If you have 100 times the same message, it will show you this message only once, but you can see via the count column that it's there 100 times)

RockofSL from the RKSL Studios has released an interesting addon in the BIS Forums. It is the standart BIS A-10 airplane, but the flight model has been improved. The A-10 should know be controlled more realistic. The addon doesn't overwrite the BIS A-10 it simply adds another plane to the Aircraft section.
This isnt really meant to be a playable addon. Its main purpose is to demonstrate that it is perfectly possible to change the handling of aircraft within ArmA to produce *reasonable* flight handling.
PLEASE NOTE: This addon is purely for demonstration and testing purposes and is intended as a learning resource for addon makers.
This version has:
- Improved Acceleration
- Reduced take off distances
- Slower more stable pitch rate
- Adjusted roll rate
- Increased Lift
- More "positive" control response
- Does not bleed speed in a turn as fast as Stock values

Mateck has updated his M1A1 (HA) tank in the BIS Forums. A replacement pack is included in the download archive. Furthermore Matteck added an T72 with new armor values and fixed hit-points.
If you have got the first version (0.9) installed, please remove it before you play with the latest version.
