Riuzo informed us that The Lost Brother Mod released their Historic Armor Pack on the BI Forums. Addons contains a bonus: SUPER FRELON transport helicopter.
Finally I got around to finishing up what I could on the historic armor pack and fixing everything up as best I could. This is not a fancy pack. In fact some of the addons (AMX13 and Super Frelon) are downright crude looking. However it's still something and something is better then nothing.
Plus, some of the addons due to the excellent work of the original addon makers and the addons they are based on, are quite nice. The Ishermans are good examples. You can even seat four infantry on the rear of all of the Ishermans.

Günter Severloh has informed us about the release of an updated 1.1 version of WARMOD on our Forums. Read the ReadMe before using the Mod.
What is warmod?
Warmod is a compilation mod that aims to fix, enhance, and alter many Effects and gameplay of Arma.
Most of the mod is a compilation of many mods, that play upon each others features. A huge component of the mod is the 2 mods that come with Warmod these 2 mods called ECS, and GL3, these two make the AI alot smarter, and say things, your character will say stuff too.
Warrior X™ from The Unsung Mod has informed us about the release of an unfinished The Unsung Mod beta Infantry and Marine units addon for ArmA.
We decided to release some beta units we still had for ArmA 1, so you can have a bit of fun with them untill The Unsung releases for ArmA 2. The units have some bugs and are not binarized and bisigned. So basically you can play around with them in the editor or in self made missions.
Some of the problems are: Infantry: - No healing capabilities for medics. - Unit icons not correct. Marines: - Textures turning black (VC like) in shade. - When killed, textures change into infantry ones.
We will not be fixing the above problems. Also we will not be releasing anything else anymore for ArmA 1. The included files wil not be bisigned or binarized. Work on ArmA 1 has completely been halted. Work on ArmA 2 is in the works. Readme on how to install and a Single Player demo mission are included in the download.
Maruk has informed the community about Final Patch Plans and ArmA Beta Patch 1.17 release on the BI Forums.
I would like to apologize for massive delay with finalization of Arma I version. Release of Arma II required much more effort than we could imagine. However, we did not forget our previous title and we still intend to leave it in as good shape as possible.
We are aware there are some critical bug fixes already in 1.16 and we also managed to do some more fixes in 1.17 that we hope may increase stability and future compatibility of ARMA I.
We intend to use 1.17 as the very last EXE revision for first ARMA.
We currently have very little resources to test this new revision and we ask the community to help with testing it. If you still have Arma 1 and have time to test this latest version please give it go and post your observations to the forums.
There is only one thing that matters in this regard is that the version 1.17 does not introduce any serious new issues not present in 1.14 (the last official version). All other issues has to stay.
We will be reading the forums in next 1 or 2 weeks and hopefully make 1.17 the final official release for ARMA I very soon.
